....Is that MKVII?

It does look a bit like it for sure. The thing is, the traitors have spent the last 10,000 years fighting loyalists in Mk7 armour. I am sure they have had plenty of time to loot and pillage said suits.

I had a shower thought today. Valrak's mentioned Fulgrim, Lucius, a generic HQ, Noise Marines, Legionaries of sorts, and an elite duellist unit, but what are the chances at least one of these is a dual kit that builds something else? And I don't mean that some of these are built from the same kit, but the opposite. The World Eaters release had the same amount of kits, but two of them, the Lord on Juggernaut and Eightbound, also built Invocatus and the Exalted Eightbound. And I know the differences aren't exactly tremendous, but it is a new named character and an extra unit.

So could there be a chance for something similar happening here? Maybe an alternate build for the HQ that builds a named character?

And speaking of the HQ. Since they brought back the Juggerlord for the World Eaters, could the Emperor's Children see the return of the old Lord in some renewed fashion?

I know he could be confused for just a Noise Marine champion, but maybe that's the unit they'll use to hearken back to this sculpt? They do like their nostalgia trips these days. I guess it depends on the direction they take with the Noise Marines. And the HQ itself, of course.

Hmm, I'm not sure there's much there to work with apart from the backpack. The rest of it is fairly generic EC, at least it will be once we get the plastics. The backpack is really cool though so I'd probably expect it to make an appearance either on the Noise Marine squad leader or potentially as an upgrade to the rumoured generic HQ.

If you had this miniature you’d forgive the wonky face when you realised it’s not actually his own face, nice! Also since they’ve been sort of upgrading the various god factions in line with Jez’s olde designs and previous miniatures  I wonder if they’ve do some tributes to the unreleased upgrades ( I got the second body in the emperors children release unit box, I was ecstatic and still have it ). I’d love to see a full beaky gimp hood as on the sprue

Better to bring back an awesome model of Doomrider. It could rival the large Juggernaut model of Khorne. Although Gee-Dubbs won´t do it. Some characters are just destined to vanish.

Oh how I wish we would get to feast our eyes on a returned Doomrider, all in plastic. But yeah, I don't see it happening, at least with this particular release. Though maybe some day we shall see updated chaos Bikers, and I believe we might, but that's a topic for another place.

He comes, he goes.

I just noticed this bit on the Grotmas calendar article:

image.thumb.png.eba7393f68030e322c8c71fbc629a163.png

The first Ecstatic Epistle was on Wednesday the 13th of November, then two weeks later on the 27th. If the pattern continues the next one should drop on the 11th, and Christmas Day just happens to be the Wednesday two weeks after that.

Dare we dream of Slaaneshmas?

That sentence is so weird, "every day of December" and "Christmas day when it all ends" are not things that can both be true.. its not even just GW, I really see it alot.. companies forgetting there is a whole week of December left after Christmas ;) it's not a serious problem or anything though, we know what they mean.

Yeah could be slaanesh preview related, maybe not even models but a quick peak at what rules to expect, full army rules and then the detachment. Though with 3 preview shows coming before EC ( unless they are much sooner than we think ) I dont expect much more than teases yet.

I'm guessing the 11th shows some weapons and then 25th is some full models (just the basic troops).

It kind of makes sense, there's so much else to see later including the elite squad, the HQs, and Fulgrim, they can preview the basic troops without spoiling the bigger reveal later.

Honestly, after getting both Krieg and the Eldar in a single preview, with me not expecting the knife ears to show up until at least LVO, I am completely thrown for a loop on what to expect when it comes to teases and reveals. But if there is another Ecstatic Epistle on the 11th, then it would be logical to think that the two weks gap is indeed a pattern, and hopefully Christmas Day is not the moment to break it.

Maybe a cheeky little teaser video with some silhouettes? A look at some of Fulgrim's details? I still remember when Mortarion was teased at Adepticon and we didn't get to see him fully until what? August? And he didn't hit shelves until October. So it wouldn't be the first time GW tease something agonizingly early.

It's funny as I do remember seeing a certain foily video discussing that. If only I could remember who put it up.

Seriously though, we could get Fulgrim even just to mirror the gap between Angrons leak and the WE release. Though on the other, less exciting  end of the scale, it may just be a reveal of the cover art of the codex. The army set would be somewhere in between.

That's assuming of course the reveal would be EC related. Though only thing between them and the eldar which we've seen nothing for is Knights in believe.

I'm expecting mediocrity. Not good, not bad, just okay.

My other army is EC. I still have a bunch of Juan Diaz daemonettes and one of those old metal bull-headed Keepers from decades ago.

@Chapter Master Valrak Fuel for the foil:

  • Death Guard are the first day, but are the seventh door on the calendar.
  • Seven is Nurgle's favoured number.
  • Six is Slaanesh's favoured number.
  • The sixth door corresponds to Dec 24th, the final day of the calendar.

(It will be suggestive if we get World Eaters on the 10th and Thousand Sons on the 14th.)

am i right that we got a big model preview last christmas day and a primarch the previous one?

We didn't get a primarch reveal at christmas, Angron was revealed in the summer of 2022 because of leaks that GW had to get ahead of. Xmas 2022 was a reveal of Arazel from the the boxset with Vashtorr. Might have been the full boxset actually. Xmas 2021 was the Eldar v Chaos set.
