The hands also seem a bit plain - I liked the previous style, with all sorts of grotesque tubes and feeds interconnecting the guns and the wielder. Though I suppose these could be special weapons for the "basic marines", and the fancier six-man squad could be more extreme.

Personally think these all are indeed the 10man core squad ( wether they will be called legionaires or noise marines.) as what is shown is the clear evolution of the Legionaire upgrade sprue ( even though the result of upgrading the legionaires was noise marines.) with the other digging back to the old concept of noise marines.

Im almost looking most forward to the resolution of the wording and names of these two squads XD

Anyone else have mixed feelings about the fairly typical daemon faces on all the shown Noise Weapons?

Idk, it feels too predictably base-Daemon for some reason. If they had to go with the 'full Daemon', I was expecting something more perversely soft, feminine and maybe tortured. A twisted angel or a more ecstatic Daemonette, those feel like I could paint them red and pass them off as Khornate.

As with most things Slaanesh-y, it could have used more tongue.

Valrak has already said noise marines and legionnaires are totally new kits. Not, upgrade, kits...

I believe he mentioned it in one of the rumour videos recently, though no confirmation till GW reveals all (maybe at Christmas? We'll see!)

All three epistle reveals have been absolutely perfect, exactly what I'd been hoping for

They have gone 3 for 3 perfect everything I’ve wished for and beyond, I was expecting smoother versions of the resin ones but no they smashed it out the park!!

Christmas needs to come fast cause I need to see this boxset for my own eyes and put a mortgage down on models

You misunderstand what I mean.

I mean it in the same way as the Stormguardians are an evolution of the upgrade sprue.

These bits are for a new unit yes, but that unit seems to evolve from the upgrade kit-noise marines.

I dont think the 6 man squad will evolve from that, but I fully expect the legionaire squad does.

I don't expect to see sonic weapons on the 10 man squad though.

Now I could be wrong but maybe they are for the legionaries and not the noise marines ,  like the old metal and plastic box set .  It could be the case that the noise marine unit is the next step up from these with more speakers warp amped sonic blasters/ blast masters , full on including a foil wrapped cucumber down the leg of the power armour madness

I like that they have kept the more recent "gun" type sonic weapon over the more retro guitar type - if for no other reason than it lets me continue to my own "Guitar Villain and the Speakerlytes" as a dark apostle and acolytes (provided, of course, EC keep that unit).

Not as big of a fan of the sword or pistol, but they do the job.  The "scream" canisters on the various weapons also seems a bit odd, but not in any kind of detrimental way, and it does allow them to carry an element in the big guns to the pistol, which might otherwise have been challenging given the more limited space which isn't conducive to a bunch of smaller elements like valves or such.  Plus, its the first iteration of a noise pistol (to my knowledge, anyway) so its interesting to see what GW thinks that should look like.

Absolutely spectacular, I love them all! Some thoughts:

  • I agree with the earlier point made that they've hit a good balance between instrument and gun for the sonic weaponry (skewing a little closer towards gun, thankfully). Memelords making constant Reddit posts asking for Noise Marines to carry an actual orchestra around with them will be disappointed, which pleases me.
  • The arms/vambraces are great, really subtle, and bode well for the rest of the suits. There not being massive amounts of ornamentation will make them really suitable to use in 30k-era EC armies.
  • Not mad at the vials. They evoke the Cacophony weaponry used in 30k which have a few vials on them (which are smaller and hooked up to cables, which I think looks a little better). It's a nice unifying element as Ruminahui notes above.
  • The sabre looks great. Love that it appears to be an unpowered charnabal weapon.

I am so incredibly excited to see the actual models. All of this looks superb.

I wonder if the canisters are just meant to be compressed air? The weapons do have a brass instrument look to them with the valves, but the marine obviously isn't blowing into it. It could be meant to help them to feel more like instruments and not just speaker-guns.

Noise Marines confirmed airbrushing enthusiasts. "I shall now apply this noise to the Ultramarine, at 20-25 PSI, with a 0.9 needle and nozzle, using my signature series Sonic Blaster. Please like and subscribe."

I'll probably just paint it as a vial though. I'm not sure why they'd inject drugs into a sonic weapon, but I intend to support them in doing so.
