True , I was also thinking converting exorcists into ec tanks , with the organ missiles

Au contraire, the Soul Grinder no longer being tied up with Slaves to Darkness, along with Daemons very likely getting rolled into the various Legions, means GW can finally update the Defiler fully embracing the new daemon engine aesthetic without having to take into account the design language of the AoS side of things. Maybe even combine it with the Soul Grinder datasheet-wise, as the gap between the two would close with the new daemon engines being way more organic looking. Vashtorr shall provide.

 

But this is a discussion for another place anyway.

EC Helbrutes get the "Maddening Screech" ability which forces a Battleshock test on enemies in Engagement Range.

I despise battleshock rules as a main rule for models and armies , it’s so boring , like that new nurgle detachment and the noise marines currently only having it , but then you get others that get re rolls , add 1 damage , it’s like where’s the balance lol

To be fair, I think the battleshock rule itself needs to be buffed with more penalties for failing (like maybe adding always fights last and a couple of negative modifiers)

I mean if there was negative modifiers to battle shocks from being hit with sonic weapons that would be interesting, just would be boring if it was like all they did was just battleshock stuff cause realistically it means nothing , and then you have other armies that give -1/-1 modifiers like death guard and , Khorne getting the dice roll buffer , just hope they get creative for us
