I am hoping that it is the box , it gives us enough of a taste and a well earned reveal , and still gives them stuff in the locker to reveal , like in the new year teaser they can do a silhouette showing , of Lucius, fulgrim or the elite unit and then closer to march in a new preview they can do a full army reveal , but I’d be very surprised if they showed it all off, I’d love for them to give us a little piece of fulgrim like a rumour engine too but I think that’s too much to ask

A mortal unit thats absent from the rumors because its a killteam release predating even the armybox instead...

 

..but more seriously I kind of take the opposite guess and think its Fulgrim and nothing else... maaaybe one model of the 10man unit.

I dont think GW announces the next special FOMO box when the previous one isnt in preorder yet, no matter how long it takes to get there.

I think either way, if it’s the box or it’s fulgrim we are eating goooood, why I feel it’s the box is cause it usually releases a month or two before the generic release so they may show it now so the distance is still there

My guess is one Noise Marine, to mirror the updated classic Noise Marine being a christmas release six (!) years ago.

I mean obviously I’ll be happy with any showing but I will be really disappointed after a years worth of teased , an index , a end preview teaser and all these ecstatic epistles all we get to show for it is 1 model

Important to remember they did show the Dark Angels box because it was the very next one coming out.

 

That said, I still think it's a good guess but I'm going for the outlier that is Fulgrim...we saw Angron a good four months before his release *

Yeah but dark angels didn’t have such a long and dragged out teaser period I feel like it would be such a slap in the face to have such a tiny reveal on Christmas Day after all of this , but like I said either fulgrim or the boxset would blow us out the water for sure!!!

I imagine that the reveal on Christmas Day will be the army box but not Fulgrim. So as per Lord Valrak (Harold be his name) that should be the basic infantry guys (whether they're called Noise Marines or not), the elite even more Noise Mariney guys, and a HQ, IIRC. 

 

To be fair, Fulgrim is exciting, but I'm much more excited to see the regular infantry. Unless Fulgrim and the elites are absolutely gak-the-bed spectacular, I'm probably just getting a squad of infantry or two to add to my Black Legion army (dunno how allies work, I just paint anyway).

I just want to see it all , aesthetic and paint jobs for them all, and especially I want to read new lore on fulgrims reason to return to real space and the reforge of his legion cause that may dictate my colour scheme whether it’s purple and gold which I assume fulgrim will still be or pink and black

I bet it'll just be Fulgrim if we're still a ways out from release, probably as a desire to avoid another Angry Ron situation where their centrepiece gets leaked too early.

I mean right now kudos to them , this year we have seen probably the most leaks from gw than any other year but ec have been locked up tight!

I actually mean I specifically dont think they reveal the box. ( so not talking about the miniatures inside of the box, just its existence.)
while 40k didnt have many of those all-new-models vanguard boxes yet, they are common in AoS, and there they always had only one pending at a time, very often the next one being revealed quite quickly after the prior one was on preorder, even if they already shown (part of) the miniatures in said box before.

 

People use Dark angels Deathwing box as the comparison here, but it was a very different situation (part of the content already revealed and no other pending box), besides every christmas reveal was very different. Same with every cult legion reveal, the only pattern there is not really GWs pattern ( all 3 daemon primarchs we had were leaked before GW could show anything ;) Magnus in the bin, Mortarion as potato thumbnail collection and Angron with a medieval scanner... it almost feels wrong and dirty to not have a fulgrim leak before reveal.)

 

btw, looked up the data as food for thought, not evidence of a pattern or for an argument ( I stick with Fulgrim, but dont see any reason why that guess would be any more right or wrong than the other guesses... we are ascribing patterns and logic to the most fickle company I know.)

I agree that "six-bound" would be a bit disappointing after Eightbound, in some respects.

 

There is a historic connection from Rogue Trader days (where EC loved getting possessed). I'd prefer if they just had access to the regular Possessed unit to represent that, though, instead of being their own kit. But it would be a neat nod, and it would be more unique than in World Eaters (where Eightbound are kind of just "bigger Berzerkers")... unless they give them Sonic Blaster arms or something...

 

As long as its not a unit that could reasonably be run in 30k, I'll be happy.

YouTube algorithm suggested an EC rumour video from a small channel. Don't know about the reliability, but the summary is 

- Some units are being held for 11th edition

- EC release is will be like WE release (ie: Primarch, main line troops, 2-3 boxed units)

- Fulgrim looks like as he is described in Dark Imperium novel series

- Noise Marines in 10 man unit with an option for blast master for 1 marine

- Carnival looking cultists

- Lucius the Eternal

- Terminators

- EC lord on foot

- Daemon engine with sonic weapons

- Eidolon is coming but not in this codex

- At least 4 characters in the codex, including a character that buffs units

- Fabius Bile is in the codex
