it’s a shame they have steered away from vs boxed sets in recent years. Corsairs vs EC would have made for an absolute stunner of a set.

I was just thinking that I miss the vs box sets I think the last one was vashtorr and chaos vs dark angels

I can see where this could go. He does, and wins. In order to get revenge. And extra angry Bjorn demands a better body, gets a Redemptor chassis, and turns Lucius to paste

And then Bjorn turns into Lucius, and the Wolves go berserk at the indignity...

It seems to be a thing that died off with the end of 9th. Guess they weren't performing as well as GW wanted or feedback wasn't grand.

There was a constant undertone of complaints for people who only wanted one half, or didn't want the old minis, or didn't like the content being soft locked for months. So I can see why they moved away from them.

Yep, terrible products forcing you to buy clutter you didn't need. Glad they focus on faction army sets, which make more sense and are solely focused on new minitaures.

They also get a more accurate barrometer of sales for each faction

Fulgrim's corruption to Slaanesh started by him picking up a daemon possessed sword on the planet Laer, right?

The planet is aquatic, and its inhabitants were eel-like creatures with multiple limbs and some with wings. It's also strongly implied that that's not their natural state and they altered themselves into this form. They were devouts of Slaanesh, if i remember right?

So that´s why, i think Fulgrim looks like that now

As for anything else to come; it seems that GW isn’t just catering to making EC the “Noise Marines Army”. The EC are slaves to perfection and excess in everything, not just making loud noises with modified instruments from a concert 10k years ago.

100% this.

If there aren't some form of stimulated close combat perfectionists, and some bolter welding sharpshooters who could take the wings off a fly while blindfolded, then I'll be highly disappointed.

Yup.

A “balanced” EC theme would have anything and everything that is pleasurable in combat represented. That is why I think the rumors of mutated swordsman all hyped up on Mt Dew and whippets is a strong indicator of GW’s intent because it highlights another aspect of combat other than loud noises. When you add the rumor of EC Legionaires into the mix, that means another non-noisy aspect of combat they want to exhibit with Slaanesh flair. It could be combat related, drug related, modifications to implant related, etc, etc.

Fabius made many enhancements to EC far beyond the implant of the Laer vocal cord thing.

Counter point: "combat related, drug related, modifications to implant related", and likes things (visually and audibly) loud.

Noise Marines do drugs. Noise Marines love the melee. Noise Marines fire their Bolters, chuck their grenades, stab and explode and flense... to a beat. They whirl through opponents, their swords singing as the tongues on their armour lap at the blood spilled. They grind their chainswords against the bones of fearful adversaries. One might roar out a deafening bellows before charging in with their Thunder Mauls to drum their opponents into screaming paste.

Like take Lucius. A "perfect swordsman" (for an insane definition of perfect) who stomps around with a daemon-whip growing out of his one arm, a massive combat drug dispenser on his back, and... clothed in The Armour of Shrieking Souls, which screams enemies to death.

Fabius did make other enhancements than Sonic Lances. (He even fell behind the Legion before they were vastly improved into Doom Sirens.)

Fabius was not the only fleshcrafter in the Legion, and not all modifications are undertaken via the knife - Slaanesh gives their gifts to the worthy. A Noise Marine's bizarre appearance is as often mutated as it is installed.

(Until the codex comes out and puts a stop to me, I will continue to be a proponent of Noise Marines as a diverse concept.)
