EC Rumours

I'm not 100% in believing that World Easter will be a real thing as it could just be riffing on the bunny eared berzerker meme that have haunted them since the early days (i swear the '99(?) Plastic kit made the issue worse). However, i still think World Eaters, along with Death Guard and Thousand Sons, are going to be dog piled into the last quarter of next year, after Space Wolves (poor Black Templars may be one of the final codex releases for 10th...alongside Votan and DE).

 

EC have been heavily rumoured for a Spring release anyway, as long as there's no hiccups in production.

Yeah and they usually do things based on holidays stuff , slaaneshmas is a thing , orktober too , so having some reveal for world Easter isn’t out of the world of possibility.

 

i think all 4 legion books will be back to back, with ec being first so maybe a April,May,June,July release, we are rumoured that summer time is a Horus Heresey edition thing so might be going heavy on 40K early year to prepare for the more HH attention in the middle

I don't think they'll do all 4 back to back, instead I think they'll double up a couple, probably TS and DG because they won't be getting as many new toys as WE will hopefully get (watch them get one new HQ and nothing else). Hopefully TS will be getting the Automata the lore has been talking about. DG will probably be a token one model release. Plus putting DG and TS together would be amusing as the gods hate each other  but yeah, given how strong the SW rumours have been compared to the cult legions, I think chaos will come after...just in time for Halloween (ChaosWeen?)

At the end of the day I only care when ec comes out and it better be as early as possible

Solo releases ( up to the 2-3 character waves ) somehow tend to hit the rumorverse later than bigger waves do, there might be some logic to it... But its not just with valraks rumors, ive seen it with a lot of rumors over the years.

 

Personally i do think they will sadly be released close together with minimal releases, though i have hopes our end of edition campaign  will be as filled as AoS's for a change.

 

( thats 56 AoS kits in the 9 or so months the campaign was .. by comparison beyond the starterset 40k has gotten 55 kits in 10th edition.

Previous editions 40k has a little under 150 kits each edition.. And with how far its behind i do expect this to be the edition with the least releases.. probably the HH plastic push taking some production value, but i hope its catched up more. )

I hope the same regarding the way AoS handles its end of edition campaign to 40k. It could be a good way to do thematic detachments in a box, especially if they make a new dedicated format ala boarding actions (maybe limit it at 500pts to be the next step up from combat patrol)

I was 99% certain the WE thing was a joke, especially as World Eaters have "bunny" ears on their helmet.

 

Assuming Guard in Jan, Aelderi in Feb and Knights in March, getting WE out for April 20th would be a push.

I don’t this it’s a release at world Easter , but like a reveal of their model at Easter for a later release

GW have done "Orktober" before with nary an Ork present.

 

But I wouldn't be surprised if World Easter does turn out to be when we get a preview of them (for a summer release).

I'd like to point out that TSons have as small a range as WE do, once you take into consideration that part of our launch wave was imported from AoS (Tzaangors) and that our entire 8th edition wave was imported from AoS (2 more Tzaangors and the MVB).

 

TSons have only had a single actual Thousand Sons model released since we became a seperate army bringing us to a staggeringly high number of 6 Thousand Sons kits (Magnus, Ahriman, Exalted Sorcs, Rubrics, SoTs and Infernal Master).

 

WE currently have 6 WE specific kits, of which only 1 wasn't released as part of their launch wave (Angron, Khârn, Jugger Lord, Eightbound, Berserkers and Jackhals).

 

DG have a ton of kits due to being an edition launch faction, so they'll probably get only a single mini release, however as it stands currently DG has more kits than TSons and WE combined with 19.

 

Also, we've got Guard up next, then Knights (probably both Loyalist and Chaos) and Aeldari before we come to the end of the existing roadmap and when factoring in AoS having a number of large/release waves due this year plus a new edition of Horus Heresy apparently on the way, you can see that the production queue is going to be quite a pain to manage for GW.

 

I fully expect that whenever EC release, TSons, WE and DG will be right afterwards since EC's codex is the point at which Chaos Daemons shatters and divides the Daemons up into their God-specific groups (presumably leaving Index Daemons behind so as to not repeat the fiasco with removing the Deathwatch Index.)

Well I think the wishful timeline for me is:

 

1) New years video with some teasers 

2) LVO we get some more reveals and then April/May they’re out for pre order 

 

(A few leaks here and there never hurt anyone )

The sad dose of reality: there are at least 1 if not 2 books before emperors children, it would make no sense to reveal their full range before those books get a preview. Likelihood is 1 EC smuggled into new years silhouette reel and then knights at LVO imo.

Its actually 4 books before EC? Though I suspect both of the Knights book will be dropping at the same time so for arguments sake, 3 books. I suspect we'll see some teases on Wednesday, along with one of the Knights (hard as it will be to tease something that big!). LVO I reckon we'll see one EC marine, but just the one in a kind of transmission interrupted deal so the people don't have to talk about it yet. Knights will get their big showing at the same time, with maybe Cosairs if they're coming through 40k. Adepticon will be the big EC reveals and a tease of what's to come later (claw marks and a howling wolf).

Genuinely can't see us waiting that long. They won't show fulgrim in December, then range in March and release in May/ June. I think LVO show and March / April release is reasonable expectation.

Yeah as above, I think if Corsairs were coming with the Eldar codex wave then we would have seen them already. The Eldar wave is already quite large (7 plastic kits from memory?).

 

If the Knights release isn't large then I'm pretty confident of at least some EC at LVO, but we're going in circles a little bit on release timeframes now. Not long to find out.

Yeah knights are getting 1 big knight and a codex, not much to fill a preview, same with chaos knights , so maybe the MEAT of a preview is ec , seeing as the last one this year had krieg big release, eldar big release, gloomspite gitz big release so they have been known to drop bombs

I suspect the Army set will be out in April with everything else following in May (thus allowing Eldar to have February, and Knights March). We'll have seen everything by the time the preorder for the army set drops because of the included codex.

Do you guys think this is what emperors children’s colour scheme will look like , with the pink transition and black trim? I just remembered that this existed and they may decide this is it, what do you guys think  

 

I only say because on fulgrims chest armour it looks like it has the same pinky tone but with purple gold trim instead of black , could be the connection .

 

i really need a eavy metal colour guide on fulgrim so much detail i want to try and recreate

Yes. Last year for 40k was the kroot army box and kill team nightmare. Auxilia box for heresy. 

 

EC AND knights is definitely doable.

That's the confirmed time for the actual in-person Warhammer preview taking place at LVO - the tickets are already sold out. I think the online content gets posted after the in-person preview has concluded if they're not running it concurrently.

Yeah I think we'll be in the pink and black, with Fulgrim being in his own custom blingy scheme (rose gold + gold) to represent the fact that he doesn't care about the Legion's heraldry anymore, he's all about himself. A nice change from the Transfigured sculpt which is painted in proud Third Legion purple.
