i did think when I did a scaling of fulgrim that he looks quite small compared to the others but if you look from the side he is like leaning and arching forward so that’s probably why he’s so small compared to the others that are on rocks or are standing tall

I mean if he’s on 130mm the bigger the better but I don’t see them breaking the 100mm formula

I just have this nagging feeling that when I make the bases (roughly) the same size in photoshop, Fulgrim's just has too thin/short a rim compared to the others, which makes me think it's bigger than 100mm.

Maybe it's just the angle playing tricks with my eyes.

Well with Kriegs box being out for pre order next weekend, looks like the timeline we are theorising is starting positive with Krieg being out by the end of January and maybe eldar end of February , but we shall see, especially with LVO in 2 weeks

The krieg *launch box* out by the end of January, the general release and the rest of the minis will be in Feb.

Eldar likely March, knights April, then it's a crapshoot from there.

Hmmmm interesting observation , that would be a crazy twist I mean it is believable just for the fact his cooking body would be near the edge of the base maybe on a 100mm so they made it a big larger , but I think they wouldn’t break the mold and keep it at all demon primarchs 100mm

Only 4 other kits for Krieg too, not a massive release.

They still have to release all of them separately, plus the Codex, so it'll probably still take a weekend just for themselves. Although I guess it depends on whether they do the non-army set kits soon and the standalone army set kits at a later date, or all at once. Or even just when they intend to release the followup standalone wave. It might be a Blood Angels situation where the standalone release happens months after the army set. Hopefully not, for the sake of Guard players, but it's a possibility.

By that same logic though, the EC army set could very well happen way before the full release. That means we might see the reveal for its contents earlier, then whatever's left after the fact. Although going by the rumours, there wouldn't be a lot left to reveal, but that's what the Ecstatic Epistle's for.

Speaking of, get your bets in on whether or not that's going to continue. We'll know on Wednesday.

Yeah I think that’s what I’m referring to in terms of timeline where ec will be like a month before the main release so maybe  April/May boxset with a May/June full release

I reckon we'll get EC boxset in April, mid to late (or preorder opens mid to launch end) with mass release May. Let's just hope that Krieg aren't waiting as long as Sister players were waiting for the solo release of their kit.

Oh yeah it was like November box release and then like February march time for solo models, was insane

IMG_0782.thumb.jpeg.1003039cdd589b129d69f1dca0884aff.jpegif anyone is a mathematician genius , they could maybe workout the scale of fulgrim in relation to the rhino and land raider in the background , cause they arent too far away from fulgrim so the scale should be the same

Curious that they've decided to swap his weapons around, same they've done with the Phoenix Lords. Not a big deal, just find it odd that it seems to be a trend.

Edit: Although looking at the video again, it might be that the image below is mirrored for some reason? It's hard to tell, at least for me.

He looks great already, just from a silhouette. Cant wait to see him properly. The original was released in like the 4th white dwarf from when I got into the hobby, he’s actually aged better than I remember.

Zooming in/out on screen to the point where the base width in the bottom photo matches a real-life base and then holding 100mm / 130mm bases up against the screen make me pretty sure it's a 130mm; it appears to match dead-on for 130 and 100 is way smaller, by doing this comparison.

I feel he maybe 130mm because the Lucius silhouette he looks like he’s on a 50mm base so they may be making each of them stand on a larger base for some reason

Thoughts:

  • Combat Drug Dispenser has had a radical redesign, to the point where it doesn't immediately look like one anymore. Almost reminds me more of the bag-pipey bits on the previewed Sonic Weapons.
  • They've kept the "standard" ball exhausts on the backpack, like the old model. I was kind of hoping for the "leering faces" design from his original art.
  • Definitely made his "ornate sabre" look far more ornate, but curiously nothing like the Laer Blade's established 30k look. (Including a basket hilt that's going to be a finicky pain to put together.) Sign of non-30k-ification?
  • He has heels, and a general "platform shoes" look. (Previously had big hooves, instead of walking plantigrade.)
  • Whip looks like it has a (big) handle, instead of just being a collection of daemon tendrils growing out of him.
  • Scabbard on his right hip. (In Lucius: The Faultless Blade he has a cultist who serves as his sword's sheath, and then it doesn't leave his hand once drawn.)
  • Pose is right leg forward, left leg back. Base is huge.

Besides the drug dispensers on the backpack Lucius looks relatively similar to his appearance in the hammer & bolter series

They probably stayed true to what we’ve seen because if they just remade him like the model they’d be showing him off over a year before he is gonna be released , but I really like the silhouette and changes to the model that we can see , makes it look more warped and dynamic

Ehhhhhhh.... his Eternal appearance was just his model, neh?

This new one: has heels, has a scabbard, whip is less organic, sword is very different, loincloth and hanging Slaanesh bling are gone. (Though perhaps what I'm seeing as a scabbard is the loincloth, posed awkwardly.) And then as noted the backpack is radically different.

What are thoughts on the army box? I'm actually fairly against them when they time gate new forces, yet some thirsty folks across the wider online world seem to be clamouring for an early access EC box.

It mainly just sounds like a bunch of models I’d want anyway in one go with a bit of a discount tbh. I like the rumoured composition.

But are you content that it could drop up to 2 mo the before the army launches as a concept?
