I feel like they look more like human cultists to be completely honest. Especially the face on the right and the body of the one on the left with the mechanical claw.

If I can get 5 boxes of noise marines and run them as 3x5 man squads, then it would be ok I guess haha..

From the launch box it seems they come in 6's anyway.

Edit: sorry, I mean sold in 6's*

New models are incredible. Lucius is fantastic.

On another note, Fulgrim is clearly a fan of the Primaris. He's heavily inspired by their naming structure when it comes to his own legion.

"Tormentors"

"Infractors"

Funny. To be fair though, we’ve had “obliterators” for a long time :)

There are Terminators visible.

Glad to see they are there, even if they are just the standard CSM Terminators with an EC paint job.

I haven't dabbled in Chaos for a good few decades. They were my first army back in 2nd edition when I started and my brief dalliance with fantasy was planned to be a Slannesh daemons army that never actually got off the ground after I bought the models for it.

I really like the new Emperors Children stuff - reminds me a lot of some of the second edition stuff.
Lucius is fantastic. Not as keen on the tongue sticking out/would have preferred just a grinning face but the overall model is amazing.

The boxset looks like a really nice starting point. I would say this could tempt me but I will probably give it a miss due to costs.

The only let down for me is Fulgrim. I just dont really like the plastic model

It is making me question whether to sell off all the Diaz daemonettes/seekers I have in the loft unbuilt or horde them still just in case

I am sad about Deamons being rolled in. Not because I don't want them to be rolled in that part is ok, but because it likely means solo deamons or a deamons only codex is less and less likely. I guess we'll see. but we also kinda knew it was coming.

I think it's fair to say that a daemons only Codex is dead, but I would be willing to bet that at least 1 of the detachments in each legion codex is going to be daemon only.

Whilst that is possible, I would think that the Grotmas Daemon detachments would cover this.

OK. I gotta admit, those are some REALLY nice models. Big fan of most everything, especially the "basic" Marines and the Lord-Exultant. Only thing I'm not into is Lucius; the whip gives too much of a "Look, we can do cool things with plastic!" vibe. Like, yes, having the whip curving around like that is impressive but I'd rather it was a bit more "at rest". Not horrendous, certainly better than Khârn but if I do get him I'll likely be converting him a touch. Overall though, great release.

Really impressed by the showing. I didn't expect them to go as wild and full-on as they did, but they really went all the way with them. I was bracing myself for a bunch of glorified vanilla CSM upgrades, so imagine my pleasant surprise at the Tormentors.

I feel like most of what we've seen strikes a good balance being OTT (excessive, even) but in such a way that still feels cohesive rather than pure 'detail vomit'. The only L in my opinion is the Lords Kakophonist, something about him just isn't clicking for me, but it's probably because everybody else is lithe (for a Marine) and fluid, which makes him contrast all the more.

As great as everything looks however, I worry the vanilla CSM units are really going to look out of place next to the new stuff, even more so than the World Eaters.

The noise marines have a very chaos primaris look.  A bit like the csm warpsmith model, echoing Mk10 design language.  Curious.

The basic marines are really well done.  Some dodgy poses aside, they really capture the original 40k emperors children look.

Coneheads not really working for the flawless blades.

I actually really like that they’ve gone marine heavy and little bit of lore that the battle line marines think they are the best that marines can be.

Differentiates them from the other dedicated legions, that as they are such perfectionists that they keep some legionary tactics even after 10,000 in stark come to how the WE, DG and TS have developed

After sitting on it for a while, 2 things that I actually miss have come my mind.

- A Sorcerer equivalent

- The return of Sonic Dreadnaughts

Unique Terminators would have been nice as well, but after the WE didn't get them I didn't expect them here.

You've got the CSM Sorc ported over (He's in the picture) and I'd hazard a guess that means you've also got the Terminator Sorcerer as well like DG (and assumedly the Terminator Lord to go with them. WE didn't get him tho, probably because he shares a sprue with a Sorc).

You could still get a Sorc in the future though, as Slaaneshi Cults are the 2nd biggest Magic Users behind Tzeentchian cults.

As for Sonic Dreadnaughts, EC can now join the queue behind WE waiting for their Blood&Skulls Dread, who are behind DG waiting for their Plague Dread, who are behind TSons waiting for their Sorcerer/Rubric Dread who are behind Base CSM waiting for the Helbrute to be updated.

I am more and more tempted but trying to resist. EC and or Fulgrim isn't or hasn't been my favorite. Nothing wrong with him or them just others have that spot. However the models are awesome. The units sound fun. I think Fulgrim and company will hit hard in melee but be less one dimensional than WE for example.

I have some concerns with how powerful Fulgrim is and might get day 1 FAQ nerf, I really dislike that practice as we've seen with Death Korps.

I don't mind the deamons rolled in, I think it's good, it's flavourful and it works. I am sad that it looks like solo deamons and or a codex for them seems off the table, I guess we'll see but that is a different topic and different thread.

I am currently working on Votann and their lack of units and their poor performance (they aren't that bad but super limited in play style) - are hurting my drive for them a little to be honest. Hopefully we see more of them this year at some point but that is also a different topic. The thing EC has going for it is that; yes we are getting new models, all the models look pretty cool, I like them personally. But you can also add on to existing models and make it work, especially with all the bits you are likely to get. Man I want HELLDRAKES! to be good. lol

You can also wrap in deamons better, probably. So there is that facet as well.

They are very temping.
