The list is pre-LVO. Soulblight were at LVO, alongside Emperor's Children (and others).

With the new noise marines being a squad of 6 containing (from the photo on LVO) 

-1x Screamer Pistol

-3x Sonic Blasters 

-2x Blastmasters 

 

I wonder how much they’re gonna amp up their strength of the weapons

Fingers crossed they're next on the list but wouldn't surprise me if it's another week.

 

I'm 100% grabbing the launch box (assuming stock doesn't evaporate in seconds). It's interesting (maybe?) that the make up of it doesn't really reward multiple buys in the way the Krieg box and others do. I can't justify buying 2 sets and moving the spare codex on like I've been tempted too with previous releases. My wallet is actually kinda pleased though.

I really disagree there. 

 

40 marines, 24 noise marines (assuming they're fixed at 6s and there's a detachment to get them as battle line), 2 characters with sufficient bits variety. You could comfortably build 2x20 each of infractors and tormentors.

 

Comparatively I don't see anyone wanting 20 deathriders or 2 special characters. 

 

Honestly, I'm all over 2 sets of this. The Krieg box was horrific value and still available in tons of places after release. I've every expectation that the EC box flies off the webstores and brick and mortar stored almost immediately. I'll.be hunting two but somewhat paranoid I won't get. 

 

For a physical February release we need to see it this coming Sunday but I'd be surprised on the back of eldar,  gitmob army box. Guess we'll see soon enough.

My plan is 1x army box and in the future 2x combat patrols 

gives you 

3x lord exultant 

40x infractors / tormentors 

2x 6 noises marines 

2x 6 flawless blades

 

i I think that adding fulgrim , Lucius and lord kakophonists I’m set and then I can get more of any of the units if needs be

In the image below, the bottom right squad of Noise Marines has four Sonic Blasters (alongside the one Blastmaster and the Disharmonist).

 

I'd say that for anyone in their right mind to even consider taking a Sonic Blaster over a Blastmaster, they'll have needed quite the glow up.

 

(And hopefully the fact that the kit contains four distinct 'Blasters and two distinct Blastmasters means that the Disharmonist won't be forced to take a sword and pistol... though if that were the case, why not model one of the two they've done up with that option...)

Man I wish the close combat unit had a few special cc weapons like how the tormentors have plasma and melta guns. A few power spears would have been neat.

Look all I’m saying is if all of us banded together to go to the warhammer factory to snatch an ec codex they may stop some of us…. But now all of us hmmm lol

Are you really saying that people should do a break and entry, steal, possibly riot, and other crimes over a rules book for a pretend game with small plastic soldiers? I don't care if you wrote lol afterwards as a way to imply it as a joke, but it is a sad joke, and a joke that feels bad in the mouth. Just grow up and have some patience, the book will arrive when it arrives.  Some of us have waited 20+ years for the Emperor's Children codex, and a couple more months is not the end of the world. 

 

To the mods. Can we lock this thread till we have something new on The Emperor's Children horizon

If anyone actually thought you were suggesting that every EC fan should get together and rob Games Workshop, that is on them. 

 

Also, when were you planning to do this? My armies could use some reinforcements and models are expensive these days!

it’ll come when it comes, I’m just very excited that’s all, been waiting 7 years myself and now it’s in arms reach it feels like a dream.

 

gonna be surreal when I get my hands on the boxes, just wanting to see times so I can plan getting some other kits

But, but... Imperial Fists are hilarious compared to so many other factions and armies, Black Templars, Iron warriors, Raven Guard, The blue man group (tau), to pick a few. Never thought of Eldars as a funny and jokingly bunch. Druukharry, Drukahari... Dark Eldars, seem kinda humour free too. Of all the Chaos gods only Nurgle seem to have a sense of humour, Tzeenthc is a bit confused with his plans and schemes, Khorne is just raaa raaa, blood, blood. Slaanesh is in no way fun, those are some scary narcissists, even in their names they have things like Tormentors, enough said. If I was caught as slave to any of the legions, I would probably be happy if I got caught by the World Eaters, as the suffering would be over quick.

I will probably not start an EC army, as I have enough Power armour armies. but if I started up another EC one, it would not be an army that was similar to the one I had during the 3.5 edition, it was juvenile, and looks pathetic when looking back at it. This time I would try to dig up the discussions that was on this board during that time, this was when this was a pure PA board, held by an Mod called Refuse, sadly I can't find the discussion anymore. But those discussions opened up my eyes to the way of excess, that we can probably not talk about anymore, how Slaanesh is not about Sex, drugs, and Rock and Roll, it could also be about solving Sudokus, or knitting to the extremes, as example. An Extreme Knitting Emperor's Children could be scary too. :) Slaanesh is about getting lost in the struggle to get to perfection, any way to reach perfection is ok.

 

And to be clear as some people don't seem to understand that I did not think anyone thought we should commit a crime, I pointed out that it was a sad joke, and disgusting joke. If anyone had written " I shall kill your spouse, and steal all your plastic soldiers, lol!". Would that be ok too? As it has it a lol after it?

Now to be fair, waiting is a pain, but to EC, isn't pain also pleasure? Thus waiting is a pleasurable pain that glorifies Slaanesh! Or to quote a plucky chaos slave from Dawn of War:

Yeah, I would have loved like... an Apprentice Fleshcrafter with a Narthecium and some sort of chem-injector. Or some Doom Sirens.

 

I think it's a casualty of being a 5-man/2-sprue kit. Fitting: five bodies, six Bolters, six Bolt Pistols + Duellist Sabres, one Power Sword, one Rupture Lash, one Meltagun, one Plasma Gun, one Plasma Pistol, one Icon, and twelve heads. That doesn't leave a ton of room for other options (though I'm still holding out for a Power Fist or some other Champion option).
