Equally feels like that will annoy everyone, no? At least sticking to one style completely works for one group. Mixing it in the army means that one of the units is a style you don’t like, whichever one you prefer.

Well I was sort of thinking along the lines of having enough of each style in the respective boxes, but it's probably implausible considering the current GW trajectory ^^'

Tbh I'm hoping the "EC Legionaries" are the current noise marines toting gun-blasters mixed in with bolters and chainswords, and the new Noise Marines take the classic guitars, bases and drums, like an armoured rock band; that way everyone can have the Noise Marine aesthetic they like

To avoid confusion on the table I can't see them doing that to be fair. Two sonic looking units to the non army player would be perceived as confusing so I can't see them doing that.

The dead marine on the Aeldari codex bodes very well for EC visual design in my opinion! No silly guitars in sight. :biggrin:IMG_2510.jpeg.aade90cdbc9f287ef7b6ec308dafc3ed.jpeg

That could just be one of the rumoured "EC Legionaires" with the actual Noise Marines having the guitars.

Also, that's Purple and Gold EC in 40k

The right shoulder is very angular and big, shoulder implanted sound weapon maybe?

....Is that MKVII?

I mean MKVII with a breast, as Slaanesh demands, but still... MKVII?

Could just be a sarum rebreather or modified but... huh.

I know the helmet is usually the most obvious identifier of what pattern the marine is wearing, but let's not forget that one can just swap helmets around.

Berzerkers for instance have MkIV helmets along their MkV and MkVII helmets.

Interesting swap for the color scheme. I’m not sure which I’ll do for mine yet.

but this chaos marine does look similar to the current legionaries kit. Leads me to further believe its an upgrade sprue and not an entirely new kit for them.

I am hoping we get a full model preview by the end of the year. Similar to how they showed off a berzerker.

It's funny because the EC boxset is painted Pink and Black...allegedly  ;)

I fail to see the joke? What’s funny about that, it seems very reasonable for them to keep their iconic pink and black post heresy scheme no?

Regarding colours on this codex cover I see a marine in violet black and gold muted colours to not take away attention from the focal eldar characters. Not a 100% confirmation on royal purple and gold being their new main scheme.

In any case it doesn’t matter as the figurines come unpainted and we’re all free to make our own choice.

Personally I always wanted to paint my EC mainly black with pink accents but since pink is such a fun colour to paint they always end up being mainly pink…

It would be very surprising if half of our infantry release is an upgrade sprue as people are speculatint, I don’t quite believe that with how they are treating traitor marine releases. I’ll admit however that as soon as a release pattern appears GW seems to throw a curveball. I was also hoping for a Slaanesh specific warcry team in Ghur but the Dark Prince seems to never follow a trend set by the other Gods.

I remember a thread in which people voiced their wishes on what kind of models should make a comeback to the range. One of the most wanted group of models were Diaz Daemonettes. So far there has been no news about a redesign of the daemonettes or have I missed something?

Genuinely can't wait to see Jeff Goldblum's smug face associated with this. Do you have any indication as to when we may see a full mini?

28 years and counting lol.

Nothing so far but such a release could also come from the AoS side of things as the demons can be used in both.

The more I look at it, the more I think that one is pink and black too, just shaded and illuminated in the blue glow of the open webway gate.

I never noticed the single Moob until you zoomed in

I was hanging out with some friends on discord while watching this and I was so transfixed by the Eldar that I didn't even notice this fella's presence until someone else pointed out the "tactical EC", which caused me to go wide eyed and immediately zoom in, and the words that came out of me with near thoughtless immediacy were "HE'S GOT A TIDDY!"

I'm unsure what kind of emotion compelled me to say that, it just kind of happened.

That's... pretty purple and gold.

To bring back up a discussion from weeks ago, I was giving The Reflection Crack'd a going over and saw a passage about Lucius which is nice:

“He was as close to being the perfect swordsman as it was possible to be, possessing the ideal balance between attack and defence, flawless footwork and a pathological need to feel pain.

“Such was the weakness of most opponents, they feared to feel pain.

“Lucius had no such fear, and only the warrior capable of the most berserk fury would stand any chance against him...

“To fight such a warrior would be the true test of Lucius’s skills, for, as much as he liked to believe himself to be unbeatable, he knew that was not the case. There was no such thing as an unbeatable warrior, there would always be someone faster or stronger or luckier, but instead of fearing to meet such an opponent, Lucius ached for it.”

I suspect that the 'standard' EC will be a purple-pink in between, with black segments (such as lower greaves, knees, and elbow pads). As others have said, I'm sure there will be plenty of other schemes. Some predictions of mine;

  • One that is distinctly Great Crusade/Heresy era purple and white (so much more purple that the 'standard' will look more 'pink' by comparison?)
  • Majority white, with accents of gold and purple
  • Majority black, to emphasize a more rocker/leather vibe
  • Something with turquoise and 'complimentary' garish color
  • Majority gold, with perhaps reds as complimentary colors
  • Majority silver, with blues
