Via the last few Valrak Vids, the Wolves refresh is

 

1. Coming next summer

2. Bigger than EC refresh

3. Logan Grimnar has lost his sled RIP

4. He has two 4 legged Wolves on his base (so my guess is 60mm)

IIRC there arent any other confirmed models bar Russ. New Wolf Guard Terminators seem a given as does (p)upgrade sprue

New Fenrisian Wolves/Cyber Wolves could be a  thing given Logan model and GW obsession with doggos.

I like to think its because its a nightmare to fit into gameplay mechanics but most likely it just wasnt selling well

 

My dream is we get new 13th company unit/models returning with Russ. And some dignity back lol

GW really need to cool it with loyalist marine refreshes I'm going to buy heavily into. I got slapped with DA and BA this year I need at least another years break!

 

That being said I am really looking forward to this one. Wolves were my first non-codex marine army and I had great fun with them over the years. I dearly miss my Terminator Wolf Lord with the original saga of the warrior born (his record was working upto 16 attacks chewing through gaunts for three turns before moving on to bully a hive tyrant solo).

 

Based on the DA and BA refreshes, I'm going to be very happy with the new models and upgrades. Rules wise I'm hoping for something fluffy and effective but may have the settle for functional.

I wanted a Leman Russ miniature too but I fear The Lion is too recent to have it...

Leman Russ would likely drop at the crossover period between 10th and 11th is he comes. Technically there's only been 2 years between Angron and Fulgrim when he drops next year.

It will be a shame to see some of the Firstborn kits like Grey Hunters go. Intercessors with an upgrade sprue just won't be the same. 

 

If it is going to be a big release I wonder what they are planning to add? 

 

So if no Russ with the codex that makes it very likely he'll be the 2026 when the end of the edition campaign books make their obligatory appearance.

If they do come out next summer, 11th edition will be less than a year away. Is that close enough to count as end-of-edition?

I want a Kill Team of Space Wolves, so I hope they get good Kill Team support. I'm not a very big Primaris fan*, but a MkX Grey Hunter kit with full trappings would be an auto-buy.

 

*I think they're fine, I just like MkIII-VI. Personal taste.

Was that ever in doubt? Only chaos primarchs get dropped before (though Angron was technically both, having a narrative campaign book named after him).

In this context it's less than 6 months, possibly less. The Lion was only revealed 3 months before 10th dropped...actually he was revealed same time as the 10th CGI trailer dropped.

It’s a good thing for Wolves, not so much for EC…
