Hey fellow especially tiny Heresy enjoyers, I am planning on running a trio of Warhound Titans with my War Hounds (loyalist World Eaters) force.

I have a lot of LI models, but not a lot of experience with it.

What do you all suffest as the best sort of loadout for a Warhound, and why?

I am partially leaning towards Vulcan Mega Bolters and Turbolasers because they seem like a good all rounder loadout, but I know a lot of you have a lot more experience.

Thanks!

Either double vulcan mega bolters or double swarmer misiles, preferably the latter. Double swarmers are a solid anti-air weapon - use them to Overwatch annoying Flyers out of the sky.

Turbo lasers just don't have enough output. Truth be told, Titans are kind of bad, generally.

I think the core problem is the game doesn't make any sense, it simultaneously wants resilience and "quality" shooting to matter, but then has a system where pretty much anything can hurt anything on a 6 with massed fire, It's the same reason I look at the laser malcs for 70pts and stormhammers for 100pts and am just baffled by the insane difference in output.

Agreed Dusk, Hounds are kinda bad, Reaver are OK with Volcano Cannon.

WLords are better and WMasters are great.

But Titans need a huge overhaul in LI.

My favored Reaver loadout is Melta, Gatling and a cute lil Conversion Beam hat on top. It does a good job at just about everything. Then again, just like every Titan it’s a point sink that could be used to bolster an existing or field an entire new Formation (depending on the Titan). I am tempted to bring my Atrapos at some point, but I always find myself running out of points before I even contemplate it.

Yep, in competitive play, they're a point sink.

But if both players agree to waste a similar amount of points on Knights/Titans it can be OK.

That's honestly been the only real solution, both players agreeing to run like x titan or titans or knights in addition to their list. Otherwise they tend to just throw the activations off too much if only one side has one or more. That's also why I don't think there will be all titan and all knight armies in the new book, I think they just re-printed titan death.

I just have a hard time fitting all the stuff I want to bring into a list as it is, and I’m not too keen on the treatment my beloved Titans have gotten in this game thus far.

I have tried double turbo-laser destroyers and using the warhound as a sniper, with very limited success. It might work better in smaller pts game where you can flank big Kratos detachments and things like that. But even popping a Kratos a turn you will struggle to get their points back..

Have also tried Vulcan + plasma, but it has been destroyed in a turn in each case (if a detachment of Russ or similar decide to target it, they aren't durable enough to survive really).

In Epic SM Warhounds had a really small hit chart so would often be missed by shots if you were lucky, and the damage tables would go one way or the other (sometimes they could be hard to take down) - in Legions they are a lot easier to destroy, and often the press of many minis on a smaller board means you struggle to use them to flank (because there is no flank!)
