SirTainly
Rather than dump this in my Iron Warriors thread, I thought I'd share here what I'm assembling for Apocalypticon from my Chaos Knights, Titans and Dark Mech, all of which I'm loaning out for the event. Let's start off with some of the older stuff, and catch up to the current WIPs. Dr_Ruminahui
Those are really quite funky - I like them. Are they modern updates of some of the old metal epic knights, or their own thing? Bonehead
They do look very much like the old armorcast ones- but quite a bit better, if I'm honest. Cool log so far! Dr_Ruminahui 1 Back to top
SirTainly
The small ones are meant to be Hell Striders, and are actually made by the same sculptor as the unpainted one. She also did some Slaaneshi titans, I'll add my builds of those in a few mins The top is a single print, while the legs are unarmed armiger ones. The unpainted one is meant to be a modern take on a Slaaneshi Hell Scourge. The STL bundle gives 2 weapon options, but I fancied more from the original Epic range (in 28mm), so I did some digital kitbashing and made the similar Hell Knight (for some reason, no photos). The green knight was done by a guy in Spain, just around the time GW released the new plastic knights. I think it's style on the old Epic ones, but spiked up a bit for Chaos. The other Hell Scourge And an older group shot with my two Slaaneshi titans Links to pics of the original Epic minis https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Hell-Strider https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Hell-Scourge https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Hell-Knight Dr_Ruminahui and Tallarn Commander 2 Back to top
SirTainly
I spent last week off work, so cracked on with Apocalypticon painting, here's something for the Dark Mech force a mate is borrowing: Tallarn Commander, Bonehead and Dr_Ruminahui 2 1 Back to top
Dr_Ruminahui
That's really cool - giving off real Nausicca vibes with its eyes and front "feeders" like those on the Ohmu. What do you field it as? A vindicator? Edited Tuesday at 04:49 AM by Dr_Ruminahui
SirTainly
Thanks, the STL maker has this vibe on several of their tech range, it's different to the Ad Mech stuff which I like as it gives it a different identity. I run it as a Skorpius Disintegrator. Dr_Ruminahui and Tallarn Commander 2 Back to top
Tallarn Commander
I agree. The model definitely gives off Nausicca vibes and it's a wonderful model. The model reminds me of this 8th Edition game. I took a Battalion of Night Lords and a Battalion of Renegades and Heretics Chaos Militia up against a Nausicca-themed Eldar army. My forces were slaughtered. But my Nostroman 9th's Renegade Commander Dnegrah did manage to run up to a damaged "Wave Serpent" and powerfist it to death. SirTainly
Looks like it was definitely an inspiration to the sculptor - still it's a good look! :) counts-as Dunerider Edited 16 hours ago by SirTainly Tallarn Commander and Dr_Ruminahui 2 Back to top
