3k BA Narrative Event List

[The Unseen]

So, there's a 3k narrative event I've just learned about that I plan on attending, so I need to get painting, fast.

 

But I should probably finalize my list or near enough before that. There are a couple house rules for the event, the ones that effect me namely are, No Unique units (named characters and Primarchs are out) 3 dread limit, units can only be intercepted once (no limit on reactions, but they can't focus fire), and when you arrive from reserve all models have to be placed within 4" of the original model (no daisy chaining, it ups to 5" if you have 10+models), and finally models can only have their I value assigned to them for wound pools, so AA sarges can only soak 4 attacks at once.

 

 

Its heavily noted that this is a narrative event, no prizes for winning, so im trying to thread the needle of making my list good enough for function, without totally crushing people who don't spam augur scanners.

 

All these combined mean I think DoR might actually be fun?

Assuming I avoid/snipe any dastardly Masters of Signal.

 

So, I'm struggling to finish the list out. Assume I have (or can get) access to almost anything, between wallet, personal 3d printer, and a decently large collection to start with.

10 Angels Tears, 5 Asaault Cannons, 5 dual volkite, Perdition Axe AA Sarge

 

2x 15 Assault Squads, PF AA Sarge, 3x Power Spears

 

5 Recon Marines, Nemesis Bolters, Augur Scanner 

 

Incaeundius Dread, Dual Fists, Flamers 

 

10 Seekers, Combi-Disintigrator, 9 Kraken Bolters, Bayonets, Rhino, Dozer Blade

What should I spend my last 225 pts on?

And how iffy is this list for a narrative focussed event?

Theme for the event is heavy on Destroyers and such.

For giggles since you have nothing really hard to take a hit and I dont see anything that going to hurt another dreadnought aside from the Incaeundius which I dont know much about aside from seeing it has two fists, I would figure out how to bring a leviathan in a dreadnought drop pod with claw, melta lance, and phosphex. He will be a good distraction carnifex they cant really ignore and if they do, its their own fault. I am also not as familiar with the RoW. Its the one where everyone drops on T2 at a particular spot right?

Yes, everything drops turn 2 within 6" of a marker you place, no reserve rolls. But everything that can deep strike, HAS to.

 

The Incandaeus is just a double fist dread that can natively deep strike. So it'll often trade against a contemptor.

 

I did think of the Leviathan, but its nearly 400 pts with a pod, and I only have 200 and change left

No idea what I would drop to take it

 

Surprisingly the Dawnbreakers on average kill one on the charge, they all have Rending 5+ and the same WS, though it often takes the sarge to finish the job with his Perdition Axe, which will wound on 4s on the charge at AP2 and Brutal 2.

It seems to me it would be fun to have something middle-sized: ie bigger than infantry, smaller than dreadnought.

 

so: Land Speeders

 

They fit the theme, can deep strike, can be tooled up for different roles, e.g. multi-meltas if you want to go tank hunting.

 

And you don’t see them that often, nice to give them an outing at a narrative event.
