Uprising
Been looking into getting some gaming matts for my hobby room as of late. Was wondering if anyone has some experience or thoughts with which company, and material (leaning towards mousepad like material) you prefer and why. grailkeeper
My name is Matt and I like to game. I've used neoprene mats for blood bowl and they work great. They might be smaller than a full 40k table but they can be rolled up and easily transported. Cant speak highly enough. I got mine from https://www.comixininos.com/ Edited October 31 by grailkeeper Kallas, Corswain, Brother Tyler and 1 other 4 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/384433-gaming-matts/#findComment-6073847 Share on other sites
Orion
I don't have any personal experience with mats. But I will say from watching some battle reports that some have too much going on. Miniatures just blend in, and not in a good way. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/384433-gaming-matts/#findComment-6073850 Share on other sites
Tyriks
I have bought from urbanmatz.com and gamemat.eu and like both. I honestly can't remember which mats I got from which company but they're all good enough that I would order again. I am in the US so shipping was a bit of a pain, but both companies were very responsive and helpful when issues arose. I also had purchased some from Frontline Gaming in the past and had much less of a positive experience with them. Kallas
I have a 40k-sized and a Kill Team-sized mat from Gamemat.eu and they're very good quality, definitely recommend. The Yncarne
Neoprene mats are the way to go. I’ve bought from a few vendors and had no issues with any of them. I'm in the US and bought most of mine from FLG’s line. Helias_Tancred
I'm in the U.S. and I have a FLG game mat and I like it. Like a previous poster said, try and pick one that is more subdued and lowkey in color and pattern. I had a well painted old Realm of Battle board from GW and when I started playing on neoprene-backed mats I was sold. Within a year I had my own neoprene backed mat and I sold my Realm of Battle board. My painted terrain looked good on the mat, etc ... very happy. No more clicky clacky dice sounds, or large dice trays all over. crimsondave and Special Officer Doofy 2 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/384433-gaming-matts/#findComment-6073943 Share on other sites

Love 'em, never had an issue with them. They are very much mouse pad like, which is what we wanted. They came as the intended size, not too big and not too small. They also look like they have come down in price a bit too from years ago (or it could be my memory failing me). FLG is also a 15% off retailer for the models as well, I have bought many kits from them in the past and never had any issues with them. Rhavien
I have several mats, both pvc and mouse pad and I can say that mousepad is miles ahead. Since I got one of those double sided mats I don't use the others anymore. They are a blast. https://www.gamemat.eu/en/battle-mats/44-x60-double-sided-battle-mats/ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/384433-gaming-matts/#findComment-6073963 Share on other sites
Emperor Ming
As others have said gamemateu is the best, used them for years, for 40k and wfb Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/384433-gaming-matts/#findComment-6073969 Share on other sites
