SlickSamos
Do any of you think that they'll ever release not Mk. VI Space Marines for Legions? I'm super keen for Mk. IV! Thanks! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/384441-not-mk-vi/ Share on other sites

Thanks! I can't see i being a priority, we do know that at some point they'll be doing more marine infantry as the rulebook teases weapons haven't seen wielded by infantry yet. There's a change they'd switch armour marks for that new sprue/box, but I also think they'd likely not but know knows. I can tell you there are certainly files for a lot of the armour marks if you print or know someone who does. I could be wrong but I think daffmakes on cults might have mk 4 armour files. DuskRaider
The only way we’re going to get another armor pattern is if it’s for specialist squads or something. Otherwise, we’re unfortunately stuck with the armor pattern that wasn’t even present for the vast majority of the Heresy. Pacific81
Vanguard Miniatures do a good 'not space marine' range that looks a fair bit like MK4. I used them for my Crusade-era World Eaters https://vanguardminiatures.co.uk/index.php/product-category/defeat-in-detail-6mm/novan-commonwealth/ SlickSamos and LameBeard 2 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/384441-not-mk-vi/#findComment-6074092 Share on other sites
SlickSamos
I've also found Bradley Miniatures - who I think has the Dreadnought from the Games Night battle report https://www.alternative-armies.com/collections/bradley-miniatures-6mm-range I'm struggling to find painted versions of their power armour equivalents so have no idea if they are suitable or not? I'm super keen for Mk. IV! Currently, there are no rumours that we will see a different armour mark – though as @Crablezworth points out, there are weapons mentioned in the rules that have no models to wield them. The more hopeful take is that this is a glimpse into the future, where things like heavy bolters (and specialists like Breachers, Destroyers etc.) will appear on another sprue, and that sprue will feature another armour mark. The more cynical take on that is poor planning or needless future-proofing (GW have had various expansions promised in rulebooks that never emerged). Weighing in the favour of seeing more stuff is: GW's statement that everything in the larger scale will eventually be seen in Epic scale. The digital dollies for the other marks presumably exist, as we've already seen Mark II appear in the tank sprues, as crew. Rules that call out currently non-existent weapons/models; or are simply not attached to anything. Working against this hope is: The labelling used: the existing boxes are simply 'Legiones Astartes Legiones Astartes Infantry' [sic] rather than the more specific 'Legiones Astartes Mark VI Infantry' or similar, which is the pattern in Age of Darkness. Other material still to come – we've had hints that Legio-specific stuff will appear, and there's still quite a few non-infantry units that have yet to see release. Community reception of the game, at least anecdotally, has been less than glowing. GW have got to be aware of that; and I'd argue that must weigh against their perceived viability of kits that are largely cosmetic (though against that is the popularity of Astartes infantry... so...). My hunch – and it's little more than that – is that we will eventually see alternative armour marks in some form. However, GW's track record is varied, so I don't think we can meaningfully predict things. Past performance suggests they're very happy to release alternatives before new units – just look at the balance of tank releases for AoD before alternative infantry types appeared; or how many Knights appeared before we saw a new Titan for AT. TL;DR – I think the honest answer is simply 'stranger things have happened'. Valkyrion
Could totally see a new Infantry Support box in MKIII with breachers and new heavy support squads with a combination of autocannon, lascannon, heavy bolter etc. The MKIV support box could have the recons, seekers and destroyers by way of comparison. They could maybe even stick in a chaplain consul in one box and a librarian in the other so as to 'force' folk to buy both boxes if they want a specialist commander. Is there anything else infantry or infantry adjacent that is needed? vadersson, DuskRaider, SlickSamos and 1 other 1 2 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/384441-not-mk-vi/#findComment-6074449 Share on other sites
