I’ll just assume:

1) GH and BC are Intercessors mixed with the inevitable Space Wolf Sprue

2) Wolf Guard and Terminators are three figure kits

3) I hope the Scouts are in Phobos armor, which I like better visually than Scout Armor.  Probably in the minority on that.

Still, I’m excited.  I hope to see Logan previewed on a Christmas Day.

I had been told there would be a Phobos Wolves kit vibing classic 2nd edition Wolf Scouts. Perhaps they're still called Wolf Scouts for traditions sake despite operating in Phobos now. It's confusing enough that I think GW would do it lol. "Let me get this straight... They're Wolf Scouts... but they're not Space Marine scouts?"

I do believe that we will get WG terminators as a stand alone kit - 5 models( like deathwing knights) along with all the TDA characters logan , arjack, Njal. I also believe the rumor of a new 3 man elite unit matching the companions and SG guard. As for bloodclaws , greyhuntersand skyclaws they will probably do the death company treatment (bolters, chainswords/pistols, jumpacks)and create 3 new spacewolves datasheets and the models will be made from intercessor kits + upgrade sprue. Thunderwolves, longfangs and wulfen will probably stay the same because i dont believe we will get more than 2-3 new unit kits. As for the scouts  i think it will be a new datasheet with stuff from upgrade sprue. As for dreads i really hope for bjorn to get updated and maybe the same kit builds an alternative dread and we wont get a repainted brutalis as a wulfen dread :)

So i call

3 new kits :WGtermies, 3man elite unit maybe 13th co themed , dread/bjorn kit

4-5 new characters: Arjack, logan, Njal,  wolfpriest, battleleader

Upgrade sprue Bloodclaws,greyhunters,skyclaws,

Scouts

Stay the same : wulfen, thunderwolves, longfangs

I actually think the BC/gh kit might be a brand new kit similar to the Templar crusader squad. The units are different enough that an upgrade sprue just wouldn't work, especially if gh retain the ability to have bolter pistol and ccw, and the crusader squad sets a sufficient precedent. Death company are basically just normal marines painted black, they have never had anything particularly unique about their look beyond that so an upgrade sprue made sense for them.

I really hope the terminators allow for lots of weapon loadouts as well rather than the current trend of extremely fixed options for units but we will see.

This has just made me hit pause on doing some work on my wolves though, I might just get Ragnar for now to keep me going until we see more about what is coming

I'm hoping the new elite unit is a better PAWG so I can run my BGV conversions as them.

A wolfy take of Blade Guard/Inner Circle Companions appeals to me a lot. Maybe throw in some axes or polearms to distinguish them a little from the other two.

I've always disliked the classic PAWG as a unit because it always seemed like there was always more efficient options to get the same wargear out on the field. They also gave me analysis-paralysis. They were coolest and unique in 5th edition when you could split off the members to command squads. I understand how unwieldy that was from conceiving rules, creating unique edge cases, but that's what made the unit interesting.

My problem with such highly customisable squads was always that the optimum loadout changed every edition. In 8th, Combi-plas was king, then in 9th it was combi-meltas. For 10th I came up with the idea of Stormbolter and Heirloom weapons with jump packs until I realised they would get squated when the new codex came out. Now the new codex is still not here and I could have been running them for a whole year!

I enjoyed running them on bikes with TH/SS, but wasn't able to do that very long before they became legends. I know that won't ever come back, but I'm always wishing it does.

Oh man, yeah that's a big issue with them. They have no thematic loadouts and often only geared out to support a meta.

I wouldn't mind seeing them narrowed down to something more limited - maybe some exclusive helfrost equipment and melee loadouts.

I am really hoping for real Grey Hunter/Blood Claw kits, it would really do a lot for the faction aesthetic. I'll need to grab some more of the current ones to pad out my Drakeslayers, who don't have any primaris.

I'll need to start working again on my Wolfspear project, I think that's what I'll do all of the new kits as. Ideally, there's a new decal sheet with some of the previous wolfspear decals, as well as more than one great company. Hopefully there's no sculpted shoulderpads on the base new kits, to make it easy to play other Great Companies.

Starting to have some half baked thoughts re Logan having 4 leg wolves on his base, Wolf Guardy unit having companion wolves; TWC could go to legends as based on scale/scale increases TWC are on 60mm so were they to be upscaled we're talking 80mm at least. Thatd be a gargantuan unit.

So esp with Logan we might be looking at Thunderwolves being downscaled and being companion models not mounts

If they did upscale TWC (which would be great) then they may stick them on the 90x50mm bases like what AoS does with some of the chunkier cavalry style units. Outrider's use that base too right?
