Well, it's nice to know someone else paints at a similar speed to me...

Wait, what do you mean that he hasn't only just finished models bought in the 90s??

More seriously, that's a lovely force. I had quite a few of those models myself, once upon a time. Nice to see them and to see them place in a competition alongside more recent models too.

There's some really stellar entries in there full stop; Oliver Threlfall's Black Templar display really got me with the tribute to the 3E cover. But yeah those Iron Warriors are absolutely fantastic- also top marks for using an RT Predator and Land Raider, those things are rare now!

Cool to see the retro stuff, I do like those classic Rhino's. They would have looked even better painted in the colours of the VIIth Legion instead of those Iron Losers but hey ho

There are three boys in yellow there too. I'm sure they're unharmed and just stoically waiting for the right moment to strike.

I'm just impressed the rails around the sides and the tops of the exhausts dont seem to be snapped/missing
Nice to see the 'headlights' are in different positions on the rhinos too

It is lovely to see.

if you like those rails on your rhinos btw Zinge industries does a modern set for the heresy Diemos rhino

I wasn't in the hobby in the 90's, I was too young - but my parents would take me to the gaming store in town, where they got their D&D books and other goodies, and I'd look at the Warhammer displays under glass.  I didn't understand anything about the game, but the models were cool.  I can still remember the diorama they had with a Land Raider and Marines vs Orks on rolling grassy fields under glass.  It was a pretty big influence in me getting started with the hobby in the first place later on.
