Some nice colors, there.

I'm interested in the new "Emperor Gold" color. I wonder if there will be any golden throne dioramas made with it. I'm also wondering if "Heavy Metal" is just another army painter silver metallic color or if its new to the line. Overall, I'm on the fence about the new set. I enjoy the  volume 1 paints but I'm also wondering if they're not just a bunch of cheaply promoted paints that we could get from other (and/or better) distributors. Cool that Blanche is still in the scene. though.

A new gold. I would be interested to see how that gold stacks up to other golds. Generally speaking golds are terrible and to get a really nice gold you need to mix it with pigment powder which is a pain and done in small batches.

Nice. But I am done with celebrity endorsed paints.

Yeah, I agree with you. They are everywhere.

And when you have hundreds of paints, it's hard to justify to buy another bundle.

But I'm curious since I never use army painter so this could be interesting.

I hope they will be available for preorder In Europe too, I can't find anything about it.

Hmm. This might be what I need to start on a Trench Crusade warband, or maybe work up some Ash Waste Nomads for Necromunda. Haven't ever done blanchitsu-style painting before, but I really like the color palette that these set(s?) are showing. Hopefully the gold is good, as I've yet to find one I really like.

Ive completely moved away from the GW range of paints over the last year.  Army Painter Fanatic Warpaints for all my fantasy/scifi stuff, so these paints have really got me excited.  A much more gritty style, (as one would expect from anything with John Blanches name on it) is a nice addition to the range so Im an insta-purchase of these.  They may even cross over into my historical painting projects which have traditionally been the reserve of Vallejo Model Colour and AK 3rd gen.  I just dont feel the need to dip into the GW section of my paint storage currently.....Im not dissing GW paints, they are still a good paint....but AP, Vallejo and AK are much cheaper and come in dropper bottles and AP even have agitators in the bottles as standard, so they are so much better value for money.

Yeah my Votann still use GW paints, but my other stuff has mostly become Army Painter over the last year (with a little P3 and Tamiya in the mix). They really surprised me with the Fanatic range quality.

Been using their blood red speedpaint over orange for a more vibrant red on some cloth in a different army, and those new Fiery Vermillion and Bloodmoon colors look like they could be great for that purpose.

I recommend you try the speedpaint metals....I was very skeptical at first, but they really are very good, and the gold especially avoids that overly yellow tone that most paints have.

Thing I found particularly interesting in the video about the leak....

I'm surprised this isn't being talked about more. Whatever your view on John Blanche's style (personally I love it), he was a big driving force behind how Warhammer 40K, Fantasy and the other stuff used by Games Workshop when he worked there. For him to publicly put his name to a product and say something like this is massive.

To be fair, if somebody gave me my own line of Tau army, and some money to say they're the best army in 40k, I'd be happy to say Tau are the best army in 40k  Whether they are or not is another matter!

I will have to give army painter paints a go though, as I've heard a lot of good things about them.

100% but considering how much influence on the games we love to play, I think this is a big thing. It's almost like seeing the Burger King eating a McDonalds

Have you tried the pro acryl golds? Wondering how they compare?

After a 2 year break, my GW paints dried up, including bottles I hadn't previously opened.

Have moved to oils and Vallejo's Heavy Metal range, but need something that dries faster.

Might give these a try.
