All these Phoenix Lords and no Karandas, my fave. :(

All in good time, all in good time. They renewed the Warp Spiders after all. Look the bright side!

It'd be a pretty interesting thing if Karandras was saved for when the Drukhari wave releases and they get their new model added late 'cause they were brawling with the Drukhari character who was the previous Striking Scorpions Phoenix Lord.

Wow those new Aeldari models are gorgrous. Not a Xenos enjoyer myself but happy for you Eldar enjoyers that you are finally getting your range updated and resin is going out the door.

That’s a proper preview there - lots of good stuff for a range of systems.

Pleased for Eldar players to finally be getting those kits, and they all look nice as well. Krieg also, although nothing will ever match the aesthetic of the old Death Riders I fear.

Hopefully this Heresy stuff if essentially clearing the decks ahead of next year. Plastic Argus looks great but is also an odd one as the resin kit was only just retooled?

My only thought is I might trim the outer element/pedipalp of Lhykis’s mask into a more curved only shape.

Also, those Snarlfangz with the gobbos look like they would make great Fenrisian wolves if you could adjust the models and give me some hope for what comes out of the Space Wolves release.

I like those previews. I expected some Horus Heresy infantry in plastic, but I'm happy with this. The new aspect warriors and Phoenix Lords are amazing and that Krieg troops...uf!So good!! Specially the Death Riders

I recall seeing some Krieg looking bird in the rumour mill. Haven't seen them in these releases. Did I miss them or is there more to come?

Much more are coming.  Commissar, squad command,...

Great! I spotted the battle standard in the video (it's hard to miss) but there's other bits out there. Like a skull emplacement

Something that was picked up on during the Heresy reveals is that the Multi-Laser gunner on the Arvus, I quote, "they'll be rules for that soon." It was also noticed they referenced the Valdor as being Armour 13 all around, which doesn't line up with the current rules. Now the latter could just be them not cross-checking before saying something, but the former they call out on the WarCom article as a new thing.

So there's probably going to be another campaign supplement in the not-so-distant future. Wonder if the Infernus will get the Chemical Cannon back?

What an amazing bit of work on those Aspects. Bra-vo, GW.

Maybe my only note is that I wish they'd kept Asurmen's grimace face, but eh. Hard to feel anything but elation for the Eldar players among us.

ETA: I can honestly say that I thought Fire Dragons could already take Flamers, but now knowing they previously couldn't I think it's a neat thing that they now can if they want.

I would be surprised if the basic Fire Dragons could take the Dragon's Breath Flamer. The WarCom article definitely suggests they can, but they wrong fairly often. The model shown with the flamer is an Exarch (it has a special helmet and the double crotch-ribbons). None of the other basic Aspect Warriors have any weapon options and so far all of the Exarchs released in plastic have had three unique weapon options (except the Crimson Hunter, but they're kind of an anomaly being a flyer). The Fire Dragons appear to have the Firepike, a new Fusion Pistol and Axe option and I'd be very surprised if the Dragon's Breath Flamer wasn't just the third Exarch option, and not available to the basic Fire Dragons.

As a long-time Eldar player I'm really happy with what they've previewed. There's little tiny details I'm not 100% on... Asurmen's new helmet (not that I liked the old one) and the Scatter Laser option on the Swooping Hawks exarch, for example. But it's really small things and overall I'm so happy to see so much finecast being retired. Especially sculpts as old as the Warp Spiders.

I was scrolling through the previews, came to Lhykis the Warp Spider Phoenix Lord, and audibly whimpered and muttered, "Good god, that's a gorgeous looking model..."

My girlfriend on the other side of the room frowned, took a moment, then got it, "...Oh you mean Warhammer model."

I actually have a hard time coming up with what's left to update with Eldar now. All aspects pretty much covered? We're missing what, 1 phoenix lord? (Striking scorpions?)

Are we entering bizzaro world where the oldest Eldar models are some of their vehicles? (like the Vyper and Falcon, which have by the way aged incredibly gracefully...)

Vyper, Falcon (which I think has aged pretty well) and Karandras are the main offenders left iirc. Everything else is from 2004 onwards I think...? Except for the FW stuff like Shadow Spectres.

Dire Avengers could use an update, the models themselves are probably only a little younger than the vehicles. Not say they are bad, but they could use the udapte.

This was easily the best preview show of the year by far, and I say that as someone who also loves Skaven and got a wonderful refresh this year. It does help that this preview happens to include two highly anticipated releases, but still, very nice set of reveals.

I think poor Karandras is now indeed the oldest model in all of 40k. His day will come though, I'm sure of it. For non-characters and non-resin/metal I think the Chaos Bikers may take the crown now.

As for the rest of the Eldar range, with this release they're doing great now, with the War Walker and Vyper being some of their oldest. Oddly, the range most in need of a general refresh now might be Dark Eldar, which is wild to me.

Vehicles, Karandras and the Forgeworld Shadow Spectres left to update.

Dire Avengers are a good candidate for a "more recent" unit has now become one of the older kits for Infantry.

Shining Spears need a Phoenix Lord still.

Other than that, it's open season for new stuff.

Maybe Harlequins and Corsairs will get some more kits, maybe Exodites will finally get added to the Tabletop and maybe they'll do Avatar units for Cegorach and Isha.
