Harlequins mentioned as getting their own detachment in the Aeldari Codex.

Also, was kinda nice for the stream to be in Sub Only mode.

Stopped a lot of the usual random spam and demands for GW to scrap whatever they're currently showing off and reveal the next 7,000 Ultramarine units.

Plastic Krieg mostly look good, was going to complain about the claws on the Death Riders but then I remembered the OG FW ones had them too. Eldar look great...except for that Warp Spider Phoenix Lord. That thing is overdesigned as all hell, complete with ridiculous pose and silly effect parts.

But the real winner for me? PLASTIC ARVUS LIGHTER WOOOOOO

Oh wow, what a nice show. I wasn't sure we'd see Aeldari at all and even if we did I wouldn't have expected it to be this much, just a tease or two. The new models all look fantastic and were easily the best part of the preview for me. The new Baharroth and Warp Spider character are especially excellent but everything was top notch really. Sometime in 2025 I have to find space to start an Aeldari force.

I really didn't expect to see a plastic Arvus either, it really never crossed my mind but I'm glad to see it. Makes me feel better about selling my resin one in the past. At the part in the show I would have said I was getting tempted to start an SA army in the new year but then the Aeldari showed up at the end. Very nice to see the extra weapons for the Deredeo too, I haven't gotten round to picking up the first plastic one yet but I'll certainly get one of each some time.

Krieg stuff all looks good too, particularly the artillery. Not high on my lists of things to get into but very nice all the same.

Right, with this all the infantry should be new and in plastic. Only some of the vehicles can now claim 20+ years of age.

Karandras hasn't been updated yet.

Maybe he has been but his model wasn't ready for the preview show?

This is huge for eldar players, all aspects now updated in plastics WITH phoenix lords(minus Karandras)? AND the missing warp spider phoenix lord finally makes an appearance after all these years. I'm not a fan of the space elves, but seriously good for you guys that's awesome!

Thought we were getting a big chaos preview?

Iirc that was mostly wishful thinking. We knew from the roadmaps that Guard, Eldar, and Knights were up first in the year, but after that it'll be the "year" of chaos.

No, Karandras is awol.

As for the other two, Drastanta hasn't had a model previously so he'd be brand new (like Lhykis), and Irrilyth and the Shadow Spectres are a Forgeworld unit so whether or not they ever get ported over to the main range remains unknown. Krieg suggests is plausible. We can hope.

1. That’s all the Phoenix Lords for non-FW plastic Aspects that have been released for the 40K game so far.  The Scorpions released via Kill Team, which as folks above noted has left out Karandras.

2. We were?  Where was that said?

Karandras, the Shining Spears Phoenix Lord and the entire Shadow Spectres Aspect are still awaiting update/release.

After this, I think it's just the really old vehicles and maybe Dire Avengers getting a new kit (they're not that old, but they are still old).

I'm greatly disappointed by look of the Death Riders and the combat engineers. The engineers are just bad in comparison to the old Forgeworld models, but I do like the flamer with the fire retardant glove and the miniature demolition vehicle. The rest of the engineer weapons look really bad. The Death Riders don't live up to their predecessors either, they feel changed for the sake of change and the only part I like about them is the cavalry las-carbine dragoon option. I'm sad they changed the steed's helmet and got rid of the French style riding boots on the Death Riders. I loved everything about the Eldar reveal and the upcoming Horus Heresy vehicles. I'm really pleased to see the Arvus Lighter return mostly unchanged with some extra stuff.

Karandras still to go. All aspects in plastic though.

Chaos not on the menu this time, EC will be later.

The only thing that disappointed me about the Eldar preview was the lack of a new Vyper which I swear was rumored to be coming.

And likely will be for a while, I believe I remember valrak saying in one of his videos that the studio has completely forgotten about him.

I am not a Krieg player but I am super pleased for you guys that you are getting infantry, artillery and Deathriders in plastic. They look great I think and it is nice to see GW expanding beyond Cadians. Hopefully down the line this also means Catachan might get some sort of support too.

The AoS stuff was awesome too and the BL books a very pleasent surprise. This turned out to be a pretty amazing preview show. The HH reveals are brilliant. I am super happy to be getting the remaining Derredo Dread variant at last. Those SA tanks look tasty too.

Anyway, some thoughts:

The Grotsmas Detachments are probably going to shake up tourneys for a while, especially the ones for Armies who haven't gotten their Codex yet.

Deathwatch getting a detachment is very good, especially with Inquisitorial Agents having eaten their previous one.

Daemons getting 4 Detachments (presumably based on the 4 Chaos Gods) is kinda worrying for anyone who was against the whole "Daemons getting rolled into the Cult Marine Codexes" theory.

The dead Emperor's Children Marine on the front of the Aeldari Codex is the most recent EC Marine we've seen in 40k and has some new things going on, such as still being in Heresy Era Purple and Gold, being in MK VII armour rather than MK VI and having the classic Slaaneshi singular breast moulded onto the breastplate.

Presumably, that's depicting one of Valrak's Rumoured "EC Legionaries" rather than a Noise Marine.

Kreig wave looks very good, tho it's important for people to keep in mind that old Forgeworld Resin versions are going to have more inherent detail than the hard plastic due to the limitations of the material.

I'm surprised that we didn't get a Black Library miniature revealed in this, tho maybe they're saving them for the actual Black Library event they mentioned.

ETA: I can honestly say that I thought Fire Dragons could already take Flamers, but now knowing they previously couldn't I think it's a neat thing that they now can if they want.

Really good preview overall, although the HH bit was a bit disappointing. Everything there is good, just was expecting a little more maybe. All the 40K stuff is really cool, wasn’t expecting all the Eldar, maybe a tease at most. I think the winners for me though were (if I’m allowed to say so here ) the AoS goblins.
