Chaos Legionaires killteam and more

Hey all, 

I didn't feel like sullying my regular thread with chaos minis. 

I made a squad of "chosen" like 10 years ago. I dug them back up and I figured why not turn them into a kill team? 

 

They were initially made with the older chaos warriors. So the poses aren't super dynamic tbh. 

 

So I converted them to represent the units of the squad. 

 

I need to repaint them but I'm worried about stripping them and damaging the tenous glue work. 

 

As far as paint schemes idk... Maybe I wanna do Red Corsairs? Unless people have cool suggestions.

Not so sure about the 2 chainswords guy, but the others look great!

I actually kinda like the chainsword guy. He's the Butcher. The old khorne chainswords are a little chunkier looking.

I started the first model in terms of painting. 

I'm going for a red corsairs warband but maybe one or two members from other warbands as well

 

For this guy I stippled metallic paint on then used some contrast red and black to get the colors.

Here is the butcher along with the finished shrive talon. 

Still haven't gotten the consistent look I wanted... But I guess it's a chaos warband so not as important.

I found an old chaos terminator lord and am going to try to salvage him. I made a new trophy rack set with eight spikes. Also a different head. I'm not sure if I should strip the paint to just touch it up and paint the new parts. He's going to be like an abbadon proxy maybe.

And here he is with paint. I guess it turned out OK. I tried not to strip the paint since I would likely lose a lot of the green stuff and glue work, even using LA totally awesome

Four more done. Just have the icon bearer left and I think the kill team is done :3

 

The sponge paint method is interesting but I think I need to be cleaner with it. It's more acceptable to me for now given these are chaos marines. 

 

I also wish I had another bare head in the squad. Oh well.

Hers the full team and a bonus, somewhat restored Huron Blackheart.  I had to replace his head since younger me cut it off. And apparently I cut off his halo too. He desperately needs an updated kit.
