My current project of late has been a restructure and reorganization of my hobby room.  I am in the process of looking for glass cabinet to display my painted army.  My current space to fill is 48 inches long by 24 inches wide and another 48 inches by 24 inches in another part of the room.  Does anyone have any thoughts as they are the last pieces of Furniture to buy.  Currently thinking of the following linked below.  Pics of your set up is welcome.  Thanks and take care.

I had similar cabinets like the one you linked, but they have a lot of wasted space because the shelves are spaced too far apart.

I've replaced them all with the Besta cabinets from Ikea, with glass doors and shelves.

You can customize them as you see fit and add more shelves if you would need them. They're so efficient, I kinda overestimated the amount I would need. I managed to get all my models in two sections, while I had needed 2 whole glass cabinets before. I still have 2 empty sections to fill up as a result.

I use a few Ikea Rudsta models. I tried the detolf previously but found it very wobbly and wasn't a fan. I wish the rudsta was taller with a few more shelves but for the price it's hard to argue with, imo. It's something like 32" wide iirc so should fit for you.

Depending on how big a space and army you have, an alternate option is the IKEA Kallax shelves with inserts. I settled on this set up after hearing about how the detlofs kept exploding, and the other display cabinet options were comparatively more expensive.

II use the top of the shelf to hold most of my terrain, and the bottom two rows are for bits, terrain tiles in bins, and plug access for my puck lights (and a cat bed).

I'm always on the lookout for new display cabinets. I had the ikea detolf cabinets for awhile but 2 things I heavily look for nowadays:

1. is it sealed/dust proof -its a pain to remove dust off figures that sit for long periods of time.
2. does it have modular shelving to not waste space.

I tried the replacement for the detolf from ikea:

It does ok, it's a little smaller and is mostly sealed. I ended up purchasing a roll of thin dust gap filler to line around where the door closes to completely seal it.

With the old detolf cabinet that was super popular, it had gaps on all 4 corners and required a lot more of that gap filler stuff.

I have a couple of the Blalidens in white too, and I like them.  Decent quality for the price, easy to dustproof, and you can buy third party extra shelves pretty easily.  The latter concern is what I'd be most worried about with the Amazon one.  The shelves look farther apart than you'd need, but I don't know if there's a way to add more to that one.

If I remember right from the construction, I beleive their are slots for the blalidens to manipulate the shelving slots, possibly make your own or someone could make something for it.

If they could make a reasonably priced one that is roughly double the size, have it sealed and light friendly then that would sell pretty well.

The picture underneath is the Besta- setup I have. Since the surface area of the shelves are almost double than those of the glass one next to it, I could fit everything from the glass in one segment of the wooden one and still have most of the lowest shelf free. The miniatures on the left come from an cabinet twice the size of the glass one. Since i hate dusting as everyone, the closed cabinets are a godsent.

Since you can choose your own setup, you could go with a whole glass cabinet and all the shelves you want. I've decided to keep my books and pile of shame in the cabinets below instead of going all glass.

I’ve routinely check Craigslist for old display cabinets. I found one that is fine but for real storage not display I use A4 boxes and magnets etc. I also got some of those clear acrylic cases.

The acrylic cases are pretty flimsy and expensive. I picked some up because I got them super cheap. I put them on top of my display case and work shelf to put Miniatures in.

I’ll add some pics later.
