If the rumours are true, then you're getting Khorne Daemons in the codex.

I’d be very surprised if they’d dissolved the daemon codex. Goes completely against the current trend of faction inflation. Only reason I can see that happening is that GW doesn’t want to expand the daemon range creatively

That said; I wouldn’t mid it, as a mono-Khorne enthusiast. More synergy between Khorne’s followers makes me happy. Didn’t like blended daemon lists anyway.

A point in favour of the deletion of the Chaos Daemons codex is that in AoS the daemons for each god goes included into the book for their mortal followers. So moving them into their respective Chaos Space Marine Legion is something GW would do, now that EC are finally getting their codex.

It would follow the pattern with AoS which doesn't have a dedicated demon book

Oh, I wasn’t aware of that; interesting development. Thanks for sharing.

Curious what synergies they will explore. The EC and Slannesh daemons complement each other quite well; where as WE and Khorne seem more of the same melee threat. GW should get creative to give us meaningful, complementary choices.

As the Grey Knights teleport away in a crackle of blue lightning, it’s time for the regular Astartes to shine tomorrow – and they’ve been hitting the books.

Librarian themed detachment?

Right, I really liked 'Hexwarp Thrallhost', that had really good mouthfeel, very nice to say. 'Warpbane Taskforce', however, is terrible. Warp. Bane. Warpbane. Warbane? Warpane? Abysmal.

Haven't read it yet. Probably wont.

A Grey Knight detachment based thematically around my favourite non-terminator unit type? Oh no my wallet is in danger. After a quick read through I like the look of this alot. And I can easily utilise most of what I have already built and started painting in preparation for the next codex.

BRB, need to go buy more Deathwatch legs to build twenty more purifiers while my wallet cries.

Just checked but...grey knights not getting privilege with Truesilver armour across all detachments?

Also, that closer deep strike being 6" is interesting considering current rumours that are flying around regarding the balance dataslate.

I mean, yea, you are basically copying daemons deep strike (the inquistors will hear of this) but at the same time; feels a little odd.

This detachment is SUPER good. While Dreadknights might miss the mobility of the Index, the lethality increase will heavily make up for it.

I'm actually more excited for this detachment in terms of Infantry heavy lists. Grey Knights haven't been doing so hot with that, and I think the extra lethality will go much further than the auto 6" advance. Yeah the Enhancements aren't as good, but they don't need to be.

Could be Tome Keepers? Does the White Dwarf chapter do anything interesting?

Not enough to warrant a whole detachment.

I also take hitting the books to possibly means the balance dataslate itself being a big document, but I'm sure I'm wrong.

Codex Astartes. Maybe some updated Combined Arms Detachment or a Drop Pod Assault.

I had the same thought but figured the Gladius Strike Force covered it.

Guess we'll see soon enough.

Grotmas is all about family – even your nefarious estranged step-brothers, so that’s why the Chaos Space Marines are dropping in unannounced for tomorrow’s Grotmas Calendar. If you’re puzzled about a present, you can’t go wrong with spiky gold trim.

Base CSM tomorrow.

I thought they already had both a Stealth and a Deepstrike flavoured Detachment, so unless this is obfuscated Daemon teleporting, I'm not sure what it is.

I reckon it will be Terminator themed. Abaddon and his boys. Something analogous to the 1st company detachment loyalists get.

Isn't that what the "Veterans of the Long War" Detachment is?

Right down to pretty much stealing a turn of Oath of Moment?

It reads as the generic detachment to me. Despite the name, it doesn't have any focus towards Terminators, Chosen or anything in particular. Just a suite of general strats and buffs.

Fair point. I'd always assumed it boosted Terminators.

Regardless of that tho, the new Blood Ravens Detachment looks nice.
