The BT one is very straightforward, I like it but it's not as fun as some of the others and it sort of does the same things as the current detachment instead of FNP6+ it's 5++ and instead of Lethal or sustained it's +1S so in that sense it's not a new way to play the army and just competes directly with the old detachment.

Here's the link to the Black Templars Detachment.

There’s literally zero change in mood tomorrow as we welcome the World Eaters to our already volatile Grotmas pile-on…

And here's your World Eaters confirmation and hint.

Fight first enhancement is nice but im not sure the litanies are good enough compared to righteous crusaders.

Army wide 5+ Invul sounds good to me, IRC cannot you not spend 1 CP and have two Litanies going at the same time?

Who needs transports when you can just yell real loud and go faster instead?

Primaris Crusader squads are genuinely scary in the detachment. Their scout move plus +2 movement and +1 advance first turn will put a lot of power armoured bodies on no man’s land objectives turn one.

Or if you’re going second, slap that 5++ against ranged attacks on to weather the storm then counter charge with the movement prayer turn two.

the only downside I can see is that everything only really benefits infantry so I’d be leaving my tanks at home, which makes anti-vehicle/monster. But a big squad of outriders with a chaplain would be an interesting choice here.

I've been building an infantry-heavy Primaris army, and Wrathful Procession looks like it would be just the thing for covering its lack of mobility.

Rite of Perfervid Wrath has strong combo with the new OoM.  Can't stack two +1 to wound (aside from countering a -1 to wound), but +1 strength and +1 to wound stack nicely, and could get your basic infantry to 2+ to wound against a lot of other infantry really easily.

I'd say it ranks as one of the worst grotmas detaxhments so far, close to the t.sons one.

Not even in the bottom five of Grotsmas.

It's very similar to their current offering but maybe that means they'll do something big to change their current index detatchment when their book comes out sometime this coming year.

Don’t think so, the strat says “instead of.”

Overall, strikes me as a side grade. I think it’s a better detachment against high AP shooting armies, but not as good against melee armies.

That detachement isn’t too exciting; doesn’t feel mechanically too different from the current one. If the buffs were linked to Chaplains it would at least provide a thematic and different way to field BT.

Im not totally excited about it. Powerwise it doesn't seem too powerful.

Funwise i think it will be fine. The 2+ move is good though!

The strats are just a little boring. 5+++ vs mortals is nice but the precision one is just sad. So is the change the litany one. If it was i addition it would be fine.

I will try it out with 2x20 man Crusaders(with scout) and a full bike squad to move full speed ahead. Add some terminators and other hard hitting infantry for the spice :)

Its at least usable.

Remember it doesnt need to be op to be fun.

In terms of fun for me personally I think the other detachment offers more combos and things to mix and match and this one is just more boring to me. Now I do think that there's value in the new one if you're using units without an invulnerable save where the 5++ is better than the 6+++ Army wide, so Crusader Squads, Jump Infantry and bikes all will survive more often but does the army have enough teeth in melee without sustain+Lethal in the old detachment? I don't know BUT I think it makes Chaplains a must so that your units get the most of +1S and +1 to wound which will make your chainswords wound on 2s against most things and on 3s vs tougher infantry.

This has some play but you really have to  build a list for it whereas in Righteous Crusaders anything can work imo.

Good detachment but really not that useful either. It's pretty similar to what we already have. No new mechanics so pretty boring...

This is the primary problem: in the end, it's the same as the Index detachment in that you just pick a rule to apply, except here it isn't permanent.

Being boring doesn't mean it isn't strong though.

Is an army wide 5++ useful on marines in 10th? Orks or Nids, with their native 5+/6+ saves, but on 3+ marines? How much AP-3 will your opponent be slinging around, and wouldn't they be firing it at your elite units anyway? Might be a great bonus for tanks and dreads I guess.

Not terribly. Might use it on Sisters, Knights, and any army using AP-3 Plasma.

Probably more than you think, especially now that AoC has been nerfed.

Feels very meh? It's nice to have new options, but it seems based on "use units as tools to deliver beatstick characters" which is kinda what the army already does. I suspect the index one may be better but there's some tools in the strats that are nice and missing from the other detachment.

Edit: seems to be some confusion as to whether granting it to a champion bestows the blessing to their unit, I assumed not.

That detachment is pretty cool - advance and charge on up to 3 infantry units?!

Its a character focused detachment but they circumvented the small roster issue of WE by giving the benefits to squad champions too - so they can pass it on Epic Heroes.

WE didn't get Red Butchers but this system let's you persoonal8ze your units through their squad leader, now your Terminators are more than they used to be and you can bufff up to three. Its a neat simple buff system, I like that it opens possibilities for players to feel more in control of their units and what that they can do or represent.
