Just chiming in with an observation.

Usually when something's been sent to Legends and isn't usable in main 40k, it's removed from sale on the webstore, right?

I mentioned this back when the Inquisitorial Agents codex dropped, but Kill Team: Cassius is still on the site.

They're "Temporarily Out of Stock" and have been since the Codex dropped, but it's a little suspect that despite being in no Codexes and having been out of stock for months that they're still there in the Deathwatch Section, even several months later.

I'm getting the feeling that KT: Cassius is gonna be returning from Legends as part of the Deathwatch Rework.

Edit: Putting this in the Grotmas thread because Deathwatch may or may not be getting a downloadable Codex as theirs.

So.
Kill Team Cassius is now back in Stock.
For some reason, they did another print run of them.
Just throwing this here as a somewhat relevant update because, again, Deathwatch may or may not be getting a downloadable Codex as their Grotmas download.

I'm pretty sure they've mentioned that KT Cassius was going to be in their own index and that it should be out before end of year very recently.

Huh, if they said that somewhere I've not seen it.
I was hoping it'd be added to IA Codex as another Deathwatch Unit they can use since all the other Firstborn Deathwatch went into it.

At time of writing, EC are a Supplement.

Lucias and Noise Marine rules are off in their own PDF currently.

I am aware. I was (tongue in cheek) side-eye'ing some future where the Emperor's Children came as a supplement rather than a full codex.

(The EC Index doesn't need a "bridge detachment" for Bile. It has no restrictions on taking CSM characters like Bile.)

Edit: to add, for those who haven't really looked at Index: EC before, it is somewhat bizarre. For starters, Lucius must be your warlord (a model that hasn't been on sale for years, and is still technically on a 25mm base). Despite this, they didn't make Noise Marines <Battleline>, but kept Lucius' rule that when he's the warlord Noise Marines gain <Battleline>. You're not allowed to take inherently <Nurgle>, <Tzeentch>, or <Khorne> units (which only applies to the Khorne Lord of Skulls), must choose <Slaanesh> when asked to (ie Daemon Princes, and Pactbound Zealots), but can still take <Undivided> units for some reason. (If you take Bile in Pactbound Zealots then he has to wander around on his own, as he's not allowed to ride in any transports or join any unit/in any reindeer games.)

Looking forward to a Chaos Knights detachment. Something to make the big boys more viable, pretty please?!

The problem is the army rule itself

Instructions Unclear.

Detachment that only buffs the Knight Abominant.

Looks like the first detachment will be Death Guard.

Detachment itself is not actually up yet though.

It's in the download section, it's fast stealthy Death Guard infantry so if the rest are like this one then it's gonna be fun times!

The article says tomorrow will be Dark Angels, so it seems that the non-vanilla Space Marines with codex will get individual slots in the calendar.

That's interesting then as either they'll double up in the future to make sure everyone gets one or...not everyone is getting one

The Grotmas article says there are 30 in total so yes they are going to double up on some days

As a Dark Angel player, I'm excited for tomorrow.

My ideal detachment would be a "combined arms" or "multi-wing" detachment that emphasizes Plasma (i.e. bring back the old "Weapons of the Dark Age" strat for +1 Dmg on Plasma Weapons), Banners (make all 4 Enhancements some form of Relic Banners, 1 for Terminator Ancient, 1 for Bladeguard Ancient/regular Ancient, 1 for Ravenwing Command Squad, and 1 for Company Heroes), and benefit for the different wings supporting one another (i.e. Ravenwing can bring Deathwing in from Reserves on turn 1, Deathwing can give rerolls to hit for nearby Greenwing, Greenwing can "mark" targets for Ravenwing to shoot/charge, etc).

Isn't the idea of an advent calendar to be a surprise until you open the door? Seems GW can't hold the excitement.

Anyway, the DG detachment looks nice enough. It tries to provide the army with something they are lacking (mobility). Difficult to tell if it succeeds to be a competitive choice over the index detachment, but it gives me hope that the other detachments will try something similiar.

Really curious about the WE and Khorne Daemons ones; they should got it to a similar direction (i.e., help with mobility) instead of doubling down on the melee aspect.

World eaters will be "teeth of Khorne" shooty detachment, buffing all bolt weapons and tanks that aren't even really csm let alone WE tanks. Then have a line at the end saying "now stop bothering us with this"  :p

Haha, that'd be a xmas miracle.

My bet for WE is a character centric detachment (similar to Auric Champions). Not something they necessarily need, but it does fit the WE.

That DG detatchment is pretty legit. There's a strat or two that are whatever, but I think each enhancement is great.

Plaguemarines actually look playable without a rhino. I also think there might be a use case for a 5 man blightlord; that profile with stealth is kinda gnarly.

If Death shroud get points added back on (I have to imagine they will), that might stick in their craw a bit. But even those guys coming down t3 with the bonus stealth is pretty legit.

Heavy disagree on Plague Marines there being used without a Rhino. Rhinos are already super good by themselves and a Scout move is no replacement for a transport for them.

What this does is just make Terminators better along with Poxwalkers. I think there's strong play here but I think the current Index detachment, with all the fixes it received, is gonna be taken more often due to flexibility as a whole.
