Not rules/play related but I finally got around to bring my thunderwolves down from sprue mountain and build them.

Now I find the original first born look silly in comparison to all the new stuff and the scouts I built lately size up better. I'm getting visions of a very fast, very stealthy group of murder things with light armoured other murder things riding them.
Does anyone has any tips on how to make them compatible (if at all?). A bit anxious to start cutting up models, I'm not the best at heaps of green stuff...

I did a Reiver on a thunderwolf a few years back. You need to cut the legs from either side of the groin to make them straddle properly, then cut out the ribbed bits behind the knees to get the bend you'd want. It sort of helps to cut the knee pad off so you can reposition it. It took a fair bit of work but it was worth it.

This inspired me to finally get round to a conversion I've wanted to do for years. Used the old chaos knight legs and the classic chaos warrior bodies for conversion. Thought I should drop it in here if anyone else is interested in it as a conversion.

So I've just boldy started before I succumb to overthinking, trying to do one with the least amount of cutting. Turning out pretty nice so far as I can tell for now. Scale/pose not too awkward. Little greenstuff for filling and some pouches and gear to cover up his beehind to come. What you think?

It's looking good and the scale is nice, I always try and think how big a horse would be next to a normal human.

In hindsight it could have done better with some trimming of the sadle and inside legs to lower the body 'into' the wolf a bit but yeah, impatience doesn't help
Now off to find a way to make his left arm grab into the manes.

Ah good old hindsight! What I did with mine was remove the legs either side of the crotch/cod-piece, then pin him to the wolf saddle through the crotch, then added the legs afterwards so the body pose was how I wanted and the legs worked around it.

I wonder if a better base to start from would be Primaris Outrider legs since they are already bent at the knee and hips are already aligned in the sitting position.

Looking at those it sounds good except I don't have them and they are too bulky for me. I try to get a 'sleek' approach.

Sill some free time so making most of it. Properly wolfing this guy up. Being of my successor chapter he must have performed some incredible feat to bond with a Thunderwolf so my firstborn give him all rights to dress as he sees fit. Afraid it will be just this one of a wolf. In a hobby rush I glued the rest I have as normal walking guys... Now only a good head and it's on to painting sometime next year.
