Looking pretty good so far... faster infantry that are harder kill at range (and have a few tricks for improving their own damage output as well):

Fast and hard to hit, just what the Death Guard are known for! Up next are slow and calm World Eaters followed by quiet and humble Emperor's Children. Stay tuned!

As I already stated in the N&R thread, I think there's some strong play here. However the current Index detachment is still better. That said I look forward to trying things like Blightlords and a LoV with the Assault enhancement or the Plagueveil on a Tallyman just slowly brining in CP

I read it as the enemy be so busy with flies everywhere that the DG get a bit closer before battle starts and it makes aiming harder.

Yeah I wouldn't call an early scout move "Fast" in any way.  They start in a forward position so the distance is shorter.

I like the thematic feeling of a sky being so clotted with flies that the regular infantry get stealth cuz of it.  VERY Fluffy.

The enhancements are all REALLY good and the strats are good too.

With Nurgle's magic and things like "flies" you can hand wave any detachment bonus and say it is fluffy for death guard. I'm not saying I don't like it or it's not fluffy. Was only making a joke.

Armies are only slow if you purposely build them that way because muh fluff. 3rd Edition Necrons are the biggest example of this as they were actually an incredibly fast army if you actually built it correctly instead of 4 blocks of 20 Warriors with no Monolith.
