Call to Arms 2024 Final Summary

First of all, thankyou to the newcomers and returning members who participated in the 2024 Call to Arms, whether or not you completed your Vows, you have all made the event the success it has been. Between the four Strongholds, we completed 3,136pts, and painted 2,300+ MODELS, which is an OUTSTANDING result by any metric.

This year I have managed to secure four (4) prizes, and they will be awarded to the following four Categories:

Master Artificer,

Favourite Young Blood,

Master of the Forge,

Grand Marshal.

What are the prizes, I hear you ask?

Long ago, even before my time, the then Moderators commissioned a custom art playing deck by Aerion the Faithful, and I have secured four of these decks. Below you can check out the four Aces from the deck,

Below you will find the four Stronghold Artificers, please join me in congratulating them on their oustanding entries,

Grand Marshal

We had a total of four Frater complete over 200 points worth of models, a truely monumental achievement. Competing in the Imperium Strongold, we had crimsondave complete 246pts worth of models, in the Chaos Stronghold, we had Cryptix complete 248pts worth of models, competing for the Heresy Stronghold, we had Dwango, 2023's Grand Marshal, complete 308pts worth of models. However, 308pts was not enough to claim Grand Marshal for a second year, this year's Grand Marshal is....

Spoiler

...SgtSharp

who completed an immense 501pts worth of models spread between the Imperium and Heresy Strongholds. Congratulations, that's quite a few models, well done.

Now we come to the answer we've all been waiting for;

Out of 1,199 points worth of models pledged, the 2 Heresy Factions manged to complete 1,025 points worth of models.

That equates to a 85.5% Completion Rate, which is a fantastic result.

If you completed your Vows in the Heresy Stronghold, you may add the Masters of the Horde badge to your signature.

Coming in 2nd, the Chaos Stronghold completed 845pts worth of models,

Coming in 3rd, the Imperium Stronghold completed 648pts worth of models,

Coming in 4th, the Xenos Stronghold compled 618pts worth of models.

Chaos Stronghold

A special thanks need to go out to @Dr_Ruminahui, he was instramental in Chaos' success at securing the highest completion rate within the Call to Arms.

Dr_Ruminahui was ever present within the Stronghold, offering advice and motivation and words of encouargement, almost daily.

This led to the Chaos Stronghold completing 845 points of models out of a potential 890 points, missing the 100% mark by just 45 points.

It was however, enough to secure a 94.9% Completion Rate.

If you completed your Vows in the Chaos Stronghold, you may add the Masters of the Call badge to your signature.

Coming in 2nd, the Xenos Stronghold achieved an 87% Completion rate,

Coming in 3rd, the Heresy Stronghold achieved an 85% Completion rate,

Coming in 4th, the Imperium Stronghold achieved 59% Completion rate.

and with that, we are at the end. Thank you all, once again. Without your participation and support, this event would not be the success it was,

so pat yourselves on theback, maybe even a high-five, you all deserve it.

Hoping to see you all at the next Forge Event.....

Thanks everyone! This event really got me motivated, I’ve since painted some friends for Angron and started a party bus for Khârn - pics below. Very much looking forward to next year (I have some ideas for Master of the Forge). Still can’t get my signature to show, but hey ho!

Ah, I’m always on my mobile so that adds up! Thanks

Thanks for hosting the event Grot, It's probably a nightmare to organise. I had a lot of fun! I had hoped to finish a lot more models (really A LOT more!), but I can't complain nonetheless. At least two sizeable ones are banished from the pile of shame, a pile they've been in for an embarrassing long time.

I've already got some models ready for next year. Well, actually the ones I intended to paint this year!

Thank you for the Artificer title everyone, I hadn't expected it at all! Especially with all the wonderfull entries this year!

Woohoo!  Go chaos!  Fantastic job on getting completioniest, and on beating out the ever fearsome imperials on total points!  I suspect the dastardly imperials pull ahead, though, if we calculate the 30K point totals in, due to the fantastic showing of the pro-Emperor side there (that said, pro-Heresy was no slouch either).

Thanks for the Master of the Forge award, everyone - I'm really happy my defiler was such a hit.   Lots of very excellent competition for it, so its a really honour that so many liked it.

On a related note, I've put my defiler as my profile art, which has interesting consequences if one mouses over my user name besides my posts - basically, one gets my defiler with my avatar head instead of its turret.  So, this:

Wow... that picture is way bigger than I had intended.  Anyway, it makes me laugh and I thought I would share.

Honestly, I gotta give Grot muchos kudos for running this, I'd been jonesing for an ETL type event, and this more than fit the bill. It motivated me to finally build some big models that had been gathering dust, nothing to say about all the armigers that resulted from trying to get to a hundred points.

Thanks again for running this Grot, always a pleasure to do something this fun. Super surprised I got votes in the Master of Forge given the level of talent shown, so thank you to any who voted for me. Another great event down!

One nice thing about these kind of polls is that people can vote for which ever model is the most awesome for them, which won't necessarily be the same for everybody.  And @Lord_Ikka, your battle bus was definitely awesome in a 2nd/3rd ed kind of way, so for its no surprise that it scratched some members particular itch.  It really reminded me of something somebody might have built using the 3rd ed Chapter Approved Vehicle Design Rules - as someone who built some of his own vehicles using those rules, and painted several more done by a friend for his army, that's incredibly cool.
