CL_Mission
The temptation to vote for Inquisitor Coteaz. Actually for 40k it was a little tough, there wasn't anything that was the super shiny stand out winner but a few units that I really like and it was tough to choose between. I don't remember off hand anything that absolutely 100% blew me away as in previous years, but the Night Lords came close, if only because I now think they set the standard for upgrade kits LSM 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/384751-miniature-of-the-year-2024/#findComment-6079490 Share on other sites
DemonGSides
Yeah another year where AoS steals the show for innovation and interesting sculpts. Halandaar
Extremely slim pickings in the 40K category this year. AoS was chock full of excellent model again but hard to see anything but Ushoran winning that one. Spazmolytic
A few models have impressed me this year but the Mechanicum release for 30K was my most wanted so the Thanatar-Cavas Siege automata got the vote. Wormwoods
I mean, it has to be one of the Kroot or Vespid sculpts, right? Solid glow-ups of older kits. Do we have enough members on the B&C to swing it if we all vote Coteaz? Maybe get some influences involved. Get Coteaz to Christmas number 1!!! Dalmyth
Between the different categories, I think Ushoran and the Aveline models are my favorites. Ushoran, I mean just look at his model. The AoS design team knocks it out of the park once again. The reason I voted for Aveline is mainly cause, I just love how they did the sword on her model and I hope they release more tie-in models for things like books and games. divad8
Yes, this year was an absolute letdown regarding 40k models. In fact, I voted for this thing an hour ago and I don't even remember what I chose for 40k... I'm not into AOS but that big skaven daemon (or whatever that it) completely blew my mind the first time I saw it; it's such and amazing model. Clear winner for me. Burni
Yeah, the 40k list was pretty sad. Went with the Kroot cavalry (love the captured motion), Ushoran (looks amazing but I'd hate to paint him) and the Thanatar-Cavas Siege automata (just a great model). Karhedron
I voted for the BA Captain. Not the flashiest model of the year but actually really good. You can build multiple poses and loadouts that all look good and leave a tasty bunch of spare parts to decorate some other minis with. Plus the muscle armour looks great in MkX flavour. I went for the krootox rider, while not as dynamic as the rampagers every time I see it again I get more charmed by it. Interestingly it was quite a hard choice for me, and another contender was the Inner circle companions, this after voting the lion last year .. .. Am I a closet spacemarines fan ? Azaiel
Yes, the 40k list was tough. In the end I went for the Chaos Lord. AoS Ushoran all the way and then the Mechanicum tank got my vote since its awesome looking. One things for certain, Specialist games division/Forgeworld killed it this year going by the list IMO. 01RTB01
Looking at the 40k list it's been a meager year. May as will give 2025 to Fulgrim now. Especially as the FW mini wasn't eligible last year... I picked the heresy cc weapons. AoS went with Vizzik Skour. Bouargh
I went for the krootox rampagers. A new unit, a dynamic pose and "un je ne sais quoi" very feral and tribal... But indeed, AoS gets it one level above. As for the third category of everything else I went Malestrain Alpha. Robbienw
The 40k offering does look sparse this year. The Dark Angels stuff and the Aquilons were fantastic though. Should be a recovery for 40k next year spearheaded by the Death Korps though! DeadFingers
57 minutes ago, 01RTB01 said: Noise marines. It'd be really funny if the unit wins miniature of the year five(?) years after the singular Noise Marine also stole the show from the likes of Morathi and the Great Unclean One. But this time they get to outshine even their own Primarch. But something very wrong would have to happen with Fulgrim's model for him to not win, and/or it'd take a very coordinated effort from the community at large. de Selby
I usually vote for something I bought, but last year I broke the rule and voted for the Lion and now I have one. This year I voted for the kroot lone-spear and maybe by next year I'll own one. I'm manifesting! Ushoran clear overall winner IMO. Also voted for Elisse Duchard. Interesting that they broke it up this year, it does slightly reduce the prestige if there's more than one mini of the year.
