Voted "Invocation of the Elements" for 40k, the Chaos Sorcerer Lord for AoS and the HH Thousand Sons Librarian Consul for the "Everything Else" category.

 

I know none of those actually have a chance, but I'm not just going to vote for the "big popular thing" just because everyone else will.

Some odd omissions on there. For example, Nemesis Claw are present, but not Mandrakes, Yaegirs or Brood Brothers. Apparently they think the KT '24 Equipment is more likely to win than those?

 

Anyway I voted for Aveline Aboyé, Ushoran and the Shieldbearer Dwarf Lords - I was tempted to vote for Ungrim though.

My 40k vote was the Krootox rider and my "Other" was the Warcry Skaven group. I forget what I picked from AoS... Or maybe that Skaven group was my Aos, because now I'm thinkin my "Other" was the Necromunda Tauros.

Yep, me too, almost for nostalgic reason only.

 

Next year we will be better for sure with heavy hitters like Phoenix Lords, krieg, all the EC stuff and hopefully some really mind-blowing aesthetic surprise.

Went for the Chaos Lord, Vizzik Skour, and the HH melee weapons. Like others there were no real standouts in 40k for me this year.

Ushoran for sure, that model blows everything else out of the water, then I voted for the Nemesis Claw and HH's Endryd Haar the Riven Hound. Nemesis Claw was a great upgrade kit, and Haar just has an aesthetic I totally love. probably should pick him up sometime. 

 

40k didn't really have any standouts this year. Next year should have a bevy though, all of those Phoenix Lords and most likely Fulgrim showing up.

I picked the ratling diorama for 40k but otherwise the same. I mixed my order up earlier. Melee weapons 2 years overdue lol

The hardest part on 40k was which Kroot model to pick. I ended up with the Lone Spear, one of the few I haven't picked up yet.

 

AoS was Ushoran. I doubt he wins, just because Skaven are very popular and the new Verminlord is also pretty sick.

 

Other...meh? I just don't care as much about Old World, Heresy, or Necromunda. I'm surprised I didn't go Thallax, but their plastificstion just felt off to me. i ended up with the Malstrain Alpha

40k was hard to choose this year, just because most of the models didn't do much for me, settled for the Sister's character because her model was the standout to me.

 

AoS was hard for the opposite reason, they've knocked it out the part yet again with their models but I have a bias towards Gryphon so I picked the Gryphon lord.

 

The 'all this other :cuss:' section was a mixed back too, some stuff shouldn't be on there like the upgrade sets and I forgot that the Solar Auxilia came out early this year (this has felt like a long year). But in the end I picked the Thousand Sons Librarian as that's been one of my favourite 30k sculpts so far, just wish it would stay in bloody stock long enough for me to grab one!

I'd say this is more protest, satire and English humour than trolling..... But hey, I'm old enough to only really associate the word 'troll' with mythical creatures as apposed to online behaviour!

Thank goodness we finally get a year where 40k isn't going to be dominated by "big Chaos daemon guy with wings". I am so done with that being the model that seemingly automatically wins every year. Perhaps this year will be more varied and interesting. I went for the Kroot Lone Sprear for bringing something fresh into a gorgeous Kroot revamp over all.

 

I struggled with AoS merely because I couldn't remember what the names for anything were so I had to Google most of it. I picked a Stormcast guy on a griffin but now I wish I'd picked something for the Skaven range.

 

As for the rest, I have always loved the Thanatar and I think it'd transition into plastic will make me get one inevitably. The rest of the plastic Mechanicum range has been fun to work on and the Thanatar was my favourite out of those designs. I'll paint it up in my 40k Admech colours and gaslight myself into thinking I might be able to use it one day.

I voted the Chaos Lord on foot, Krethusa and Lady Elise Duchard this time. For 40k, to me it was between the Deathwing Knights and the Chaos Lord, but chose the Chaos Lord in the end. There was some really good stuff for 30k this year, but I think some of the new Bretonnian sculpts really take the cake for SDS as far as the top of what was there.

I wish they'd put the images up for the nominees, if nothing else it would be a nice way to look back at all the releases for one year in a single place. 

 

I went for the new Sister BL model, Ushoran, and my favorite release of the year, the Glimdarrow Groundhogs, the gnome team for BloodBowl. I think this might be one of the most expansive year's in GW's history. Behemoth battle automata, undead ghoulish gargantuans, and itty-bitty badgers. Looking forward to 2025!

#1 40k really surprised me, actually.

 

A bunch of the non-40k/AoS results being the Legion Consuls I also was not expecting.

Honestly, I forgot half of the "best of the rest" category came out this year. I even painted the Thousand Sons Sorcerer and could've sworn it was last year

Its a great kit; and also a call for more personalisation for chaos and other armies beyond SM.
