Hi

I‘m new here and only got into Warhammer a few months ago. I‘ve been painting a little while longer and was looking for something new to paint, now I want to give wargaming a try. I bought a ton of Adepta Sororitas models - and I‘m loving it. I‘m already toying with the idea of getting some Space Wolves one day. Due to my very busy life, I make only little progress with painting, but it‘s the perfect hobby for me. I haven‘t played a game yet a but that‘s definitely going to happen in 225.

I‘ll probably be asking people here for tips.

I found out that progress in number of miniatures painted is coming through regularity: you do not need to paint hours; but spending small amount of time on a regular base you defined as per your other real life commitment is a corner stone to get some progress. That and batch painting. At least it works for me...

Welcome!  Sisters (the old metal ones) were my first army, and they were a joy to paint - I imagine the modern models are no different.

As for painting, you just need to find the rhythm that works for you.  For me, batch painting (except for the base colours of miniatures) is a motivation killer - I find trying to do detail painting (so, any painting where I'm particular on getting paint only on where I want it to end up and nothing else) on more than one model at once difficult as it doesn't let me come back and fix the stuff I notice while painting a model and doesn't give me the visible progress I need to enjoy the process.  That said, it works for some people and maybe you are one of them.

Rather, these days I tend to paint 5 minutes here than 5 minutes there while on the computer, though some days I will paint for longer stretches (though my long stretches are rare more than about half an hour before taking a break).

So, try around with whatever works for you and your life.

Welcome to the B&C, @Elvatuar!

I started my 40K journey with Space Wolves and Sisters of Battle many, many editions ago….back in 2nd edition. I still play Sisters today, but focus more on other armies

Painting is just one aspect of the hobby, but as long as you are having fun, that is what matters.  See you in the Adepta Sororitas section!
