Ya, thats what I am expecting too. I also, expecting for 11th. Things are going back to index lists and with that sisters are going to get an overhaul and I suspect will be at the bottom of the pile again.

I hope and pray to the emperor that we don't go index again.  I'm sick of the dex grind and don't want to reset to index again.  That said, I think the writing is on the wall that when Sisters do get their new dex, miracle dice are gone.  GW has learned the dice substitute mechanic does not balance well.

I dont think there will be indexs, 10th esp this year has outsold everything being 40ks most proserous year,

So far index resets have only happened when major problems with balance occurred, 7th ed..and 9th ed were the only eds that triggered index resets, and those were major stand out issues:yes:

My prediction is we'll get Indexes for 12th.

I'm convinced that GW's model is NOT a 3 year edition cycle, but a 6 year edition cycle that has a .5 update halfway through to allow the churn to continue.

9th was more 8.5 than it was a new edition, and I believe that 11th will be 10.5.

But I think 12th will be a reset.

Well, 3 year vs 6 year is a distinction without a difference if we have to eat an index every three years.  Don't get me wrong, they did a decent job on the indexes....but that's a punishment cycle for whoever is the last three dexes of the edition.  I already think GWs sales of the late dexes are gonna suffer after what they did to World Eaters and Guard last edition....here's your book...and it's no longer relevant.

They do it every edition....some army gets the shaft of late release and new edition. Unless you are Generic Space Marines they get everything.

I am curious as to the Grey Knights and Black Templars and probably even some of the other recent releases.  On the transition to 11th.  Will become really broken.  That a Space Marine codex will be rushed out asap to keep that faction on top.  Then near the middle a second Marine codex.  I hope they learned from the shelf life of 6th going into 7th being only a year.  With 7th really being 6.5.  I didnt get to play 9 but own the Sister codex.  It really looked to me like the 8th codex that we got right before the change over.  The one thing I dislike is the focus on Tournament play.  Going to 2 of the narrative events so far.  It sounds like those keep getting expanded and sell out fast.  The one in Tacoma even had 3 people waiting for drop outs.  Dallas, had a guy drop from the GT to play in the narrative too.  I see them trying to be more involved in the community with balance passes and updates which are welcomed for the most part.  I think, stop trying to be Privater Press and more Warmachine/Hordes like with its competitive mindset.  I am aware that game system recently changed hands and dont know much else about it.  Besides it very hyper tournament focused.

I do like the Crusade.  I had hoped this edition would see Crusade expanded and improved in the books but honestly it was mostly a copy paste from the previous edition.  Natchmund Gauntlet was a fantastic book but the wave reinforcements were needlessly complicated.  I personally think some of the deep strike mechanics in Natchmund were testbeds to make deep strike and reserves more interesting in the next edition.

Oh dear. If you thought Nachmund gauntlet was needless complicated. You should see the new Armageddon book. Random chaos portals every turn. On top of actually needing bloodthrister and khorne demons. Which also get there own turn. So like 3 turns per round. Tacoma the TOs had to go umm. We don't have the models or the extra hour per round to move around a third neutral faction. That we disregarded that.

Hopefully crusade will be expended in 11th. Seeing how 40k is going more like a FFG board game.  It would make things faster if they made an upgrade deck. I know more things to carry around but to do all the extra book keeping at a causal tournament can be rough.

Indexes every 6 years. New BRB every 3. Sorry, wasn't very clear: when I said 11th would be a .5, I meant it wouldn't be so different that we needed indexes to go along with it; instead, people would continue using their 10th ed dex until the new one arrived.

Then when 12th arrives, IT will be the total reset that requires a new round of indexes.

This was the pattern established by 8th and 9th. Obviously, this is all speculation, so we'll see if GW keeps the pattern going.

I could have sworn I replied to this already, but there's nothing here.

I really liked the 9th ed hardcover campaign books, though I didn't like that there were 2 per season, and I was a little less impressed by the mission packs. For me, campaign books need rules content for them to be worth my money, and I found that any of the 9th ed campaign books contained enough that I felt my purchase was worthwhile.

When 10th came, I was hoping they would leave existing Crusade content in play, and add NEW content with the dexes. Instead, they reset the bespoke content, preventing people (again) from truly Crusading until their dex arrived. Now, additive Crusade content can and does work: White Dwarf gave us additional Crusade content for Sisters, Tau (Kroot), and GSC. None of that content replaced the stuff from the 10th ed dexes... And if 11th IS a 10.5, this is how they should handle Crusade. Don't invalidate what's there and working, just give us more.

There ARE improvements that were made to Crusade for 10th: I LOVE that non-character units cap at Battle-Hardened unless you pay the RP to allow them to reach Heroic or Legendary. It allows you to freeze parts of the army; when every unit is Legendary, the term loses its meaning. I also like that Battle Scars are more of an issue, and I certainly hope they carry this over into 11th.

But I ALSO found that the Core Crusade rules were incomplete: they leave some of the work to the campaign specific content, and I thought that was a mistake. I'm fine with having campaign specific stuff... But there should also have been a baseline that wasn't connected to a specific story taking place in a specific location.

Finally, I find that 10th ed campaign books don't have enough rules content for me- there are no campaign specific detachments or builds; there are no ally rules like the old Armies of Faith/ Torchbearer Fleets/ Armies of Chaos Undivided. I'm not buying a book for a handful of battle honours. I know others will disagree; I've heard people say they'd actually buy pure lore campaign books, and some have even said they'd prefer it.

I like books that give me narrative enough rules that I can create my own lore on the table. That's the whole reason I play.
