Upcoming BL Stuff 2025

I was flipping through some older books, reading the afterwords and this one made me chuckle. Oh, how things have changed...

Quote

At that time, Graham McNeill had just handed in the first draft of The Outcast Dead, Gav Thorpe had almost finished writing Deliverance Lost, and Nick Kyme was about to kick off the limited edition novella range with Promethean Sun later that year. ‘I was there,’ I would tell people afterwards, even when afterwards became a time when such things were regularly celebrated, ‘I was there, the day that Nick’s book broke the website…’

Christian served jointly as Nick’s editor along with Lindsey Priestley, as well as commissioning stories for the new audio dramas and limited edition novellas. When Promethean Sun completely sold out in record time (three thousand copies in twenty-four hours, no less!) it was clear what the fans wanted – great books featuring their favourite primarch characters, breaking out of the main Horus Heresy storyline but also inextricably linked to it.

I remember how it crashed the website.... It was so silly. You actually had to order via BL's own site, can you believe it?!

I remember trying to order my first BL book when I got back into the hobby, the Dark Imperium LE

It was midday during the week, they still had one available, the BL website still crashed on me. Then defaulted to a different language.

I remember the times, when there had been days or even weeks, when a Limited Edition was on offer on the Black Library site, such as Ferrus Manus primarch book.
The first LE that I bought was Solar War, which was online for about an hour.

Solar War was a disaster launch, it killed the BL website and forced the change to selling books on gw website only.

The first BL books I got were from the library. I didnt think they were great.

My school library got in the same books when I went to secondary. You could never get any books out of the library as the librarian would take her lunch during lunchtime, so would close up the place then. If you tried to go at any time other than lunchtime she would give out to you for not being in class and make you go back to class. I was a huge reader and I dont think I got to borrow one book in my 6 years there.

Well, I got the HB edition of Era of Ruin this morning without much fuss (in fact it’s still up on the Oz site as I type).  Maybe everyone is waiting for the LE before they brave the website.  Good luck to those brave souls if that’s the case.

I don’t suppose it says who is narrating the audiobook version?

Pretty baffling the Era of Ruin hardback is already sold out. Iirc they had fairly decent stock even for The End And The Death's.

Then again, I guess the scalpers saw how much most HH softbacks go for on Ebay these days and wanted in - particularly if they missed the small print about the LE being released on a separate day.

Audio is narrated by Shogo Miyakita, Colleen Prendergast, and Jonathan Keeble.

Listening to the preview, I will say Miyakita sounds like he's improved since Red Tithe. Everything sounds smoother than he used to

For all the bad and ranting that the siege brought though, I don't know if I'm emotionally ready for some of these stories. I know Homebound is going to bum me out

Thats what I thought too. Its gonna be for sale on Amazon the rest of the year, and now you are already "out of stock online" How is that possible with presumably so much stock still left?

I'll bet you right now that this is temporary on the warhammer website and it will become available again later.

Anyways, I got a copy through independent retailer after I saw the message.
