Siege of Terra: The Shattered and the Soulless by Graham McNeill is coming next year - I assume this is a novella about the Thousand Sons. Is this the true final book of the SoT?

It’s just a collection of McNeill’s existing Siege novellas, nothing new in there.

You’ll get your wish.  There is another McNeill novella in the BL file cabinet as well as his almost mythical Horus novel to close out the HH Primarchs series.  There are also some uncollected shorts they could bundle up as well.

The road goes on forever…

I suppose it's worth asking, again, where exactly is Graham McNeill? The man's a well-known and much-loved author in the setting, I'd have thought for sure he'd be involved in... well... anything

E: I just remembered he's writing for Trench Crusade (and Arcane), a setting which perhaps is a better fit for his 'eavy metal style.

Every six months, GW releases its latest annual reports or half-year results, and everytime they copy and paste -

"Under our Black Library imprint we publish new titles every year, from short stories and audio dramas through to full length novels and audio books."

They stopped making/releasing audio dramas in 2020(!) yet every six months, there it still is, in black and white. GW just doesn't give a f-- about Black Library; the rest of the business gets a proper update every six months, they don't even bother to see what's new in Black Library world. Sigh.

New book coming out by R. S. Wilt. Don't know anything about him, not even what R. and S. stand for.

I'm always a bit suspicious of authors who go by initials.

Graham McNeilln is writing for trench crusade? A novel or flavour text? I'd love to read it. Are any other BL authors writing for it?

I went onto his X (and I still hate that there's so little author info from BL that I have to visit X or LinkedIn to find anything out)

He's written two short stories, one Tempestus Scion, one Howling Griffon. Both are "these guys are dropped behind enemy lines" and must do things. It sounds like from the description Final Deployment might follow the same pattern, but I dunno. Maybe it'll be good?

*also, don't really know anything about Trench Crusade, but I remember folks talking about Thorpe writing something as one of the stretch goals for the kickstarter and Andy Chambers being involved somehow too

The Guns of Enth, his Howling Griffon short, I thought was pretty swell. An 8 or 9/10 by my reckoning. I haven’t read his Scion work but if Guns was anything to go by, I’ll probably be picking this up.

I’ve enjoyed both of Wilt’s shorts for BL.  The Howling Griffins story was great, especially for a first up effort for BL, and put him on my author watchlist.  Eradicant, his Scions short, was also okay and was an interesting take on the Tempestus.  It features the same cast as the upcoming novel.

He has also done two other shorts for BL that I haven’t read yet:

The Pharisene Paradox, for the WH Horror imprint (released as a eShort as well as included in the The Resting Places anthology, and

Recriminant, included in the Inferno! Presents: The Emperor’s Finest anthology.

I will be checking up on these as well before jumping into the novel.

Reading it now.  Loving it so far.  Recriminant is next up.

Talking of newish talent, I’m loving the work of Graham Thomas Wilcox.  “Only” done a couple of short for AoS so far but would like to see him take a shot at W40K.

According to Fnac Ashes of the Imperium releases on October 29. So it will probably go on pre-order on October 11 Saturday.

Between "Recriminant" and "The Guns of Enth", it is clear our boi RSW is making a play for an Alpha Legion story

But it won't be easy. "Harrowmaster" was GOATed, and the Alpharius novel was solid, meaning GeeDubs trusts Mike Brooks to write them.

Legacy wise, he has a lot to live up to: Rob Sanders has "Sons of the Hydra" and the arguably far more influential short story "the long games at Carcharias" which put the Alpha Legion on the map. Also, his Exodus has to stand up not only to Solomon Akurra but also to the likes of Quetzel Carthach

To this day, I think Quetzel Carthach is truest son of Alpharius to have ever graced the pages of BL: he has a superiority AND an inferiority complex (like his Primarch), pulls out outrageously elaborated bamboozles, and his reason for hating the Ultramarines is completely nonsensical. (He claims its vengeance for Alpharius' death at Eskrador, but many hydras have said that Eskrador never happened. This means Quetzel literally can't tell truth from fiction which for an XX legionnaire is Based as :cuss:)

Trio of new books announced.

Krakenblood by Marc Collins follows Ivar Krakenblood, a Wolf Priest given a personal mission by Ulrik the Slayer: to lead a band of warriors into the darkness to face impossible threats, recover a sacred relic of the Chapter, and challenge the fates themselves on the way. That’s pure, unfiltered saga material right there.

Dalchian Rassaq, the Skin-Taker, is the former lord of the Blades of Atrocity. Deposed by his rivals and left for dead, he catches wind of a deadly new threat rising against the Night Lords. With former allies and merciless foes circling, and vanishingly few loyal warriors, Dalchian must resort to cunning to outplay his rivals. A phantom voidship and a renegade tech-priest who might help him take command of it might be the keys to his victory. Many stand in his way, and his blades thirst for blood.

Hyped by the new Night Lords book and interested in the Necron one. But I really didn't need more Space Wolves ngl. I was kinda hoping for a new Raven Guard novel to explain Shrike's departure from Chapter Master.

Mark Collins is a frater and seems a very nice guy. He's very helpful to people here.

I like the cover on the nightlords book but the font for the title is a bad choice. A night lords novel is going to have big boots to fill following ADB.

Not for me, the ABD trilogy did not mesh with me for whatever reason.   I honestly like Lord of the Night better. Unpopular opinion, I'm sure.

Mike Vincent wrote a pretty good Red Talons short story that featured Night Lords, so I got hopes for this one. I haven't read Johnathan D Beer, but I always have hopes for Necron stories.

I liked Void King, so space wolf fans might enjoy this novel. But I just don't like space wolves so it'll be a pass for me.
