No novels, no sourcebooks, nothing. I feel the same way about wanting a book for the Tyranid invasion of Macragge (please Robert Rath if you're listening, I will love you forever) Again, we are supposedly in the midst of the greatest Tyranid invasion ever (lol), it would be a prime time to have a book that covers the first encounters with the Tyranids, the invasion of Macragge, etc. Plus with the success of Devastation of Baal, it seems like a decent business decision. But no, the only Tyranid coverage we've gotten that I can recall was a book that I ended up not even finishing (even as a big Ultramarines person) but also my list of wants are long. I want more Deathwatch because I think if they're well done they could be really interesting with the dynamics of all the different chapters, I want anything about the Raptors, I want more Raven Guard (no more Thorpe please), I'm surprised we haven't seen a Vigilus novel as much as they're pushing it (don't really want one but just surprised), etc. Edited Thursday at 12:55 PM by darkhorse0607 Casual Heresy 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/384814-upcoming-bl-stuff-2025/page/34/#findComment-6130895 Share on other sites
Felix Antipodes
I’m curious about what constitutes good sales figures for BL too. Especially since (a) they nearly always sell out due to the lowish numbers they print and, (b) we are always hearing that the BL stuff is ‘just’ PR pamphlets for the games/models, so any sales numbers shouldn’t be that big an issue. While I understand GW is a business, and profits are the name of the game, when you are selling (almost) everything you publish I can’t understand why they don’t vary their output a lot more (and I don’t mean they should whack out a book for every model). Hmmm, I would imagine them running down the side of his face, rather than going all the way to the end of his snout.Exactly how would Skratch react and what would he say to me if I hugged him, rubbed his back and licked those tears running down his muzzle with my tongue as he cried? Because every time I read that, I fantasize licking every last tear from Skratch's muzzle I think he would hug you very close for your potential use as a human shield.Dumb question but on a scale from 1 to 10 with 10 being the saltiest, how salty would Skratch's tears taste on my tongue if I licked them directly from his muzzle? There are no dumb questions - only weird ones! A quick Google tells me that human tears are less salty than seawater, so I'm going with a cool 3.On a scale from 1 to 10 with 1 being freezing cold and 10 being scalding hot, how warm were those tears running down Skratch's muzzle? Let's say 4. I can't say I've ever noticed tears' temperature, suggesting to me that they're neither overly hot nor especially cold" Felix Antipodes, cheywood and LemartesTheLost 3 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/384814-upcoming-bl-stuff-2025/page/34/#findComment-6130951 Share on other sites
DarkChaplain
I loved these sorts of Q&As. Josh Reynolds used to respond to a LOT of those things back in the day, before the legal team slapped him for the sin of giving people closure on canceled projects and forgotten plotlines, particularly during the End Times... Though clearly planned from the outset to be a trilogy, the odds of a third book in that series are now decidedly slim. Fedor
I still maintain the Iron Hands are the most interesting loyalists with probably the most actual serious sci-fi (as relates to trans/post human supersoldiers) potential entwined within the main themes of the chapter. We need more of them. Guymer's books were very good. darkhorse0607
I think its a problem with a lot of chapters out there that have some really interesting potential (i.e. Raptors, Raven Guard, Howling Griffons, the list goes on) but just either havent even gotten a novel/novella, or that the ones they got were so surface level it set a bad predicent for the chapter Or even worse. They get a novel and its just about the primarch, but because its got the chapter in it, it counts as a chapter specific novel. I'm looking at you Dark Imperium series Edited Friday at 11:51 PM by darkhorse0607 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/384814-upcoming-bl-stuff-2025/page/34/#findComment-6131085 Share on other sites
