The Scouring: Ashes of the Imperium pre-orders next week, plus Master of Rites. Both books in hardback and LE at the same time.

Interesting tidbit on The Scouring's LE:

This is your first chance to buy this edition, which is currently only available while stocks last. If this sells out in a blur, as these things are known to do, we'll look to do a restock in the near future, so don't panic.

Ooft another expensive week for me.

An LE of Master of Rites is a surprise but I may go for it to add to my Dawn of Fire/Dark Imperium collection. Sad to see the miniature is only getting legend rules though.

I will probably get a standard copy of Ashes of the Imperium as well. It is very interesting that they’ve stated they will likely reprint the LE of Ashes.

Interesting note that there's no mention of author signatures or numbered copies with the scouring novel also it's referred to as a "premium edition" instead of limited edition or special edition which is normally used for the numbered/signed ones. Someone in finance at GW had to be wondering how much money was left on the table with the limited siege novels,

There have been callls for this (reprinting LE/SE without the signature plate/numbering) for a while now but as a second edition type thing, not dropping them entirely.  Maybe they are phasing them out to counter the scalping issue?  Make them less of a rarity?

I don’t mind it myself but there are collectors out there that will not be happy.  From a GW point of view it sounds like money left on the table.  Premium price for signed LE followed by slightly less expensive ‘Premium’ edition to soak up any remaining potential sales.  MMPB edition for those still welded to that format.  Dropping the LE stage, and the high price they sell for, seems like bad business to me.

As for the other releases, usual GW famine or feast ensues

And about damn time. Now re release the bloody siege books in the nice faux leather please.

Im thinking next Saturday will be an absolute :cuss:show and the LE book will get botted and scalped to :cuss:, im sure its likely they will keep to their policy of 2500 copies world wide. This is regardless of any future re-release because the Scalpers know that people will still want to buy the book now rather than later.

The annoying part is that im In Canada and the reason that my site ends up lagging is due to the volume of Americans trying to buy the books at the same time along with the bots. From observing other regions and releases ive noted Canada in general does not hit the same demand as other markets while I think Aus and NZ are the lowest.

I think knowing thats you can get a identical version in the near future will REALLY impact re sale prices. They are not numbered or signed, so you need a BL whale who is also in a deathly hurry.  I just dont think enough exist.  Scalpers are after big profits, fliping it for 20-30 quid is not really what they are in the game for.

I really hope that you are right in your assumption since I am one of the sad collectors who wants to get my fingers on this edition.

The leaked LE on eBay from months ago was showing 3500 copies, not 2500

Are there any rumors of Black Library's new novels announcement/reveal event in December or in Q1 next year?

Interested to see if anyone has. Normally it doesn't have a lot of announcement for it, but with Aerios originally being announced as an in-range model, but now being a limited Black Library model (which normally gets debuted at the show in December), I wonder if one is even happening

I can bet you the Harrowmaster 2 is slated for the Black Library Celebration 2026, to be released alongside the model.

I am expecting it to happen, it's always in December ever since they cancelled the Black Library Weekender.

They want to show off what they will be releasing for the February BL Celebration among other things.

Hadn't seen this linked on here yet, but Wraight did a ~18 minute interview about Ashes of the Imperium. I know there's already spoilers aplenty, but as someone who's avoided most of them he checked the blocks on what I wanted to hear from The Scouring

He confirmed this is the first of a multi-author extravaganza but avoided any mention of who else is involved.  I don’t know if that intrigues me or has me scared…

pls no Gav Thorpe or Mike Brooks or Nick Kyme.

Rath would be great for this as I dont think hes done anything since Fall of Cadia.

I'm very much looking forward to Gav Thorpe not only doing the inevitable, and long-awaited, destruction of Caliban, but also to make sense of Lorgar post-TEATD, considering how good his take was in Bearer of the Word.

Likewise, I want Brooks to do Eskrador.

Wholly agree re: Thorpe. First of the Fallen was godly, and his take on Lorgar is the best of the bunch. He may continue.

Kyme writing zombie Vulkan is most acceptable, too.

Dare we dream that McNeill will do the eventual liberation of Mars, full-circling Mechanicum?

Very much agree. I would love a Brooks take on the Alpha Legion post-Siege as they approach Eskrador as a contrast to Head of the Hydra which was late-Crusade.

Rath would probably be my first pick for the Iron Cage, or McNeil as he has history with the Iron Warriors in general.

Someone please write something that gives me closure for Marius Gage

Giving Archmagos a read right now.

I'm sure there will be near-universal approval for the fact that...

Felix is back.

 (And he's not alone).

Nah, this series needs to establish new authors.
Thorpe has already butchered enough stuff in HH/SoT, I've already complained enough about Brooks here, Kyme might be an excellent editor, but damn, his novels are boring as hell. He and Collins completely killed DoF for me. Those two books are the most boring and pointless things I’ve ever read from BL

It’s time to let actual newcomers like Rath, Crowley, Flowers, or Harrison (please come back!) get a proper shot at writing multi-author series. And maybe even let Wraight manage it. Haley+Kyme fully failed to manage DoF.
