Good news:

There is a new release going up for preorder next Saturday, and it's a surprisingly quick turnaround from announcement to release

Bad news:

It's Phil Kelly's latest Farsight novel....

Boo this man for starting the announcement with the good news

As far as I'm aware GW/BL never confirmed it. All we have is speculation and one or two rumours at most.

As for HH 3.0, I think that's gonna release with the Age of Ruin Anthology.

is HH Horus Heresy 3.0 and what does that even mean?

Yes,

The third edition of the game. Currently there's a lot of debate going around if that is this summers big release (part in thanks to valrak saying it is). On one hand, it matches the edition churn that GW is using of every three years now. On the other, people don't want it to be basically

For my part, HH is entirely uninteresting so long as it is so utterly reliant on Forgeworld resin. That's what ruined Blood Bowl for me when they rebooted it. But I guess they might drop another tie-in anthology or novel like with 2nd edition? Still haven't read that one.

Other than a proper new edition of Warcry, which they've repeatedly left out of reveal shows over the past year, indicating it is likely dead (despite supposedly being a fantastic game), I can't think of anything besides HH slotting into summer this year, either.

...then again, I really just want to see them unveil more AoS at Adepticon, particularly a new Spearhead board, cards & book with some new thematic Spearheads of armies they don't have slated for quick Battletome rollouts. Which the rumors would indicate right now, at least. What do you mean "you already own 8 Spearheads"? Don't judge me. That number is going up to 12 this year, anyway.

I get the resin issue, I don't mind as much, but I get it. The big issue for me is the lack of options compared to a few years ago. Prior to the Last Chance to Buy purges of 208-19-20, you had all the units (Destroyers, Breachers, Despoilers, etc), all the MKs of armor available, as well as torsos/helmets/dreadnoughts/shoulder pads for each legion.

Now it feels more half in/half out. They've barely put out the melee weapons upgrades a few months back which is arguably worse than the old one because all of the pistols are for the same hand and the same with the melee weapons. Dreadnoughts are this weird half resin/half plastic so you only get half the detail. Only have two MKs of armor. Terminators and all the special units are old scale, no torsos, etc. And then the Black Books, which for me at least, was half the appeal are a shadow of their former selves.

I dunno if you had seen, but Warcry is now online only and it's been pulled from GW stores so I wouldn't get your hopes up for a new edition.

I dunno. I'm just hoping for something exciting, which I know is subjective but Warhammer for the last few months hasn't really been getting me excited the way it used to

I feel the same, but Hell’s Last is providing some degree of comfort. It’s Hill’s best work yet in my mind and an excellent guard novel. The Minka Lesk series is clearly an homage to Gaunt’s Ghosts in many ways (the focus on a single regiment, the large number of characters and varied settings, the bleak and relatively grounded tone) and this time I think it comes close to Abnett’s work in quality, even more so than Traitor Rock. I’ve been putting on jungle sounds in the background and it’s a joy to read. Hopefully the back half is as good as the front.

Italian edition of Graham Mcneill's Horus Heresy Fulgrim, to be published by Panini Comics. To be released on 22nd May 2025 on the German Amazon. Is this a comic book version, or the first time that this book is being translated into Italian? Can someone take a guess?

That is good to hear. I read the first few Lesk novels and agree they are good and get progressively better. I really enjoy Justin Hill’s books and he is also a thoroughly decent chap which makes it all the better!

On the one hand, Valrak has proven to have access to trusted sources

On the other, the man has zero immunity to hype

I wish the 3rd ed would overhaul the horrifically unthematic rules of the Dark Angels (where for example Ravenwing is good for Terminators and bad for bikes, and vice-versa) that they have been burdened with since the last black book, but my hopes are slim.

There has been a serious lack of anything interesting regarding the current 40k universe for months. I know that the last Indomitus Crusade novel is going to be released in April, but come on, what is going on there? It has worked fine till 2023. And what about the Lion? Since his release there hasn't been anything forthcoming.
Hopefully, they take there time to prepare some awesome new campaign...

I wonder if we're getting another Armaggedon book. ADB is writing the codex/campaign books lore side, and the next one is focused on the 65th Armageddon War (which, given that it's ADB is not surprising) so I wonder if there will be a novel eventually. Knowing BL probably in a year or two, but still. Seems like an easy sell

Next week pre-orders
