Upcoming BL Stuff 2025

I just want them to reveal that either 1) The Warhammer Fantasy Chronicles is getting a reprint for old world. 2) Actually Old World books are coming out.

Otherwise as others have said they kinda spoiled allot already, surely now would have been the moment to reveal the last last last siege of terra book.  Rather then showcase it a while ago for....no real gain.

So apparently Cado Ezechiar, the Hollow King, is getting a second model as well. That's the John French novel character for AoS, who already got a model a few years back... for BL Celebration, iirc.

Minka Lesk, Ven Denst, and now Cado... what is it with BL-models just retreading the same characters? Not even counting Neave Blacktalon, at least she had a dual kit with a generic option at first. There's so many they could be doing instead. Heck, what's next, Drekki Flynt version 2?

I mean, I like these models and think it's fantastic that BL characters get miniatures again. But their priorities seem so awkward, it's annoying.

...and unlike the Minka Lesk model article on Warcom they also published today, this one wasn't even marked as part of the BL celebration DESPITE being about a BL character AND advertising both novels.

Cant say I am surprised that the BL Celebration is a total buzzkill, as that is fully in line with everything of the last 2 years ( or is it 3 years by now?).

The December preview also shows less and less each year, and the Celebration is also less and less every year.

Yet the number of titles per year remains relatively consistent. I wish GW would recognize that BL novels aren’t as hype based as GW products. The game and miniatures are a relatively social experience as far as nerdy hobbies go. You need to retain a certain constancy of engagement or else people fall off because they have fewer friends to play with, fewer events to go to, fewer people to talk about it with online/in person and fewer products to buy. Books are different. I love discussing them on here, but that’s not why I (or most people) read them. We read them for the story itself. No others need be involved. Thus marketing is less about retaining constant attention and more just about ensuring people can easily know what’s coming and have books available to buy.

GW should be hit up for false advertising… this is not a BL Celebration even by the poor standards of recent years.  Where are the previews of upcoming releases?  The author interviews?  Oh, there is one with Kyme (locked away on WH+).

What drives me crazy is that they have not released a First Claw mini box from the Night Lords trilogy.  Easily one of BL biggest book successes ever, and despite being Chaos one i feel will sell like hotcakes to fans of the series for painting/collecting.  Crazy.

I once again am requesting a Cain/Jurgen model

But yeah, not to sound like I'm hating on the characters/books, it just seems wild to me that they have the money machine that some of these other characters would be that they either haven't ever done, or haven't done in 20 years (Cain for instance), but chose to redo these newer ones

Interesting (maybe not) line from the WH+ article today when talking about Nike Kymes interview

"a fitting person to interview ahead of the upcoming Black Library Celebration!"

So either

a)they didn't proofread this before it posted

or

b) maybe there's something else coming this week?

I don’t think it’s a proofreading issue or that anything else is coming. Kyme’s just a fitting person to interview because he’s a BL author and this is the BL ‘celebration’.

Just watched this interview; he talks about Salamanders/Vulkan and Dawn of Fire series (including spoilers for the latter), but not much else; nothing about Black Library celebration or Black Library in general. Just FYI.

Friends, I voted for Elemental Council as the best BL book of 2024. We should all participate in this voting.

Also voted for Elemental Council. There were a few good ones last year (Broken Crusade, Deathworlder) but Elemental Council was a step above

I voted for Interceptor City.

I've bought interceptor city and downloaded it, but aren't allowed by BL read it till this Friday... but they still give me the option of voting for it as a 2024 release.

Hmmmm.

Even more perplexing considering how many bones BL/GW have thrown ABD’s way in recent years (and fair play to them, too.  Great to see them supporting their staff through difficulties).

Unrelated but still surprised we didn’t get some NL trilogy fan service in the SoT (perhaps in Era of Ruin?)

Hmmmm.

I'm a sucker for Sabbat Crusade stuff, so I bought the silly limited book and read it last year.

Aaron has previously said that he feels 40K CSMs shouldn't all show up in the Heresy as well as not realistic and chances are they were nobodies back then, if around at all. Would only serve to make the universe 'smaller' and - although it's fun to see characters we recognise - it does make sense.

He says as he writes a short story in the Age of Darkness anthology about First Claw during the Dropsite Massacre

It would have been nice if they at least wrapped up Sevetar

I seriously think that Sevetar is a hot candidate for one of the HH Character Series books though

Yeah, I don't think whatever Aaron and Alan had planned will ever happen at this point. I'm already doubtful we'll see Black Legion 3 before the 30s, and what was originally sketched for Sevatar in Nightfall obviously got scrapped and went utterly unaddressed. I have no hope for this one anymore.
