Next week on Warhammer Community we have reveals for Warhammer: The Old World and the Horus Heresy, the second quarterly balance update for Warhammer Age of Sigmar, while the Grotmas Calendar continues – and there’s a little surprise on Friday.

Wonder what the Surprise will be...

Good to see these being made available (even if only for a while) - they really were great kits.

Hopefully the price won't be too high, so anyone who missed out first time can grab some (I have more than enough, thankfully)

I mean, a Basilicanum is going for $499 US on eBay right now (there might be cheaper, but that’s the first one I saw), so while I don’t agree with GW’s current pricing, it will have to be better than that, right?

It is an unfortunate time of the year for these to show up though, and I’m glad I have what I have already, but couldn’t they have pushed it like three months - I could have actually purchased then…

Are these the ones that came with the original Kill Team box? They were great sprue and I was gobsmacked when they vanished. I will seriously consider grabbing another set.

Yes, the Imperial Sector has the same sprues that came with that kill team set. The Manufactorum kit that's also going on Made to Order has different wall sections though.

As a side regret, I wish they would have made MTO the derelict manufactorum instead... Its broken reactors were quite OK.

Anyway, the cathedral might be a nice add-on in any case. I just wonder if I'll do the step or not...

I still find it super weird that a whole bunch of terrain lines came out in 2018 and they've all been cut, only to be resold as made to order.

Guess it really marked the change in focus.

That these are not the default terrain we all buy is criminal. I didn't care what the "reason" was, this is the standard.

Making the floors lower and covering the windows did not improve the later generation that replaced these masterpieces.

I was, and still am, pissed to have missed them when they first released 6 years ago.

The eBay mark up is crazy. I'm sure the made to order will still be beyond what I can afford.

To any that get them, congrats please use the hell out of them!

Man, I DETEST that this is the next MTO-kit announced MINUTES after I ordered the damn terminators. I don't have the spare money for these. These kits never should have been discontinued in the first place, it's some of the best they've made!

This stuff is gorgeous, and I wish I'd got the Kill Team boxed set that had a load of it in for not much money. Will get some, dependant on cost!

the Imperial Sector is not actually the same as the kill team box. It was a special set to make 3 big buildings and doesn’t include any of the arch doorways of the kill team box.  The walls are actually a special (only in this set) triple wall panel. So the set isnt quite as modular as others.

The Imperial Sector was £80/85 when it was on sale. Wonder how much it will be now. There have been a few general

proce rises since then so at least £95, but MTO up charge might put it at £120?

Yeeeesh that would kill it dead for me. Honestly I swear they simply don't understand the target audience when it comes to terrain. They seemingly don't keep running them due to low sales and low return, but that's because we're all conditioned to buy minis for armies. Terrain is often the last thing someone buys, but those who do will need a lot. So when you get to 3 mid sized GW buildings for over £100 or a boring but rules appropriate equivalent or larger volume of MDF for half or less, it's real hard to justify their market position on terrain.

every gw kit (except characters) is priced reasonably similarly when you look at it in terms of sprue numbers. A handful of years ago the terrain was half the price of models (per sprue) and I think they realised it wasn’t making as much money.

old terrain used to be made in china but I’m not sure where this is made. I think (based on the quality) it must be made in the uk, so producing a ‘sprue’ has a cost and so that product has to be sold for similar value compared to if they made a tactical squad or something instead.

annoying for sure.

I mean this is my point though, they're big on the visuals of the game to sell the product but do very little to encourage a good looking table directly themselves. They could opt to make a little less on the terrain in the name of supporting their game, but as you say, there's opportunity cost I guess.
