So what does everyone think?

I like it. With the ability to pop tart, even if it does cost a CP with your tempestus units, it makes the lowly hotshot flashlights something to really be feared. Going pure Tempestus you have 105 dudes on the board with some vehicle support. Im taking two vultures and a Valk plus a single commissar for actions. The vehicles jobs will be shooting up enemy infantry while I try and concentrate the +1 to wound tempestus blobs on vehicles. It is for sure a return to the old death or glory style of drop troop guard since there are no reinforcements to bring a blob back. I'll sub in some Elysians for Aquillons both to tell them apart on the board and because they dont do the same thing as standard storm troopers.

I really like the Market Garden/Pegasus Bridge vibe they were going for here.

(edit someone else can link it, I cant go to WH community from where I am sitting)

Bridgehead Strike Detachment

Ok so First off. Yes I get a very Market Garden, Pegasus Bridge, Bridge to Far vibe, which is great.

2nd, I am very happy. While it means we won't have a detachment in the new codex, we have our detachment rules now.

third Grotsmas has been awesome for me. AdMech Data sheet fits better than regular Detachments for My idea of FW Deimos, Grey Knight one is awesome, and now this....hopefully Adepta Sororitas detachment will be fitting for my army style too.

My Militarum Tempestus (54th Psian Jakals) is going to have be redone due to point increases and a 2nd command squad added because of this detachment. For vehicles I am going with Valkyries (3), Taurox Primes (3), Vulture, and Tauros Venerators (2)

My only wish is that they had slightly loosened up on the restrictions around the enhancements; even the fluff stuff made mention that it is supposed to mimic both Tempestus and Kasrkin type deployments, but really only Scions get Enhancement options.  Which ultimately is no big deal, as most IG people just use whatever flavor of infantry they want and play em as datasheets.

I think it's nice, and I'm excited for the implicit datasheet changes that come with moving the Battleline change to a detatchment over keeping it attached to the Command Squad.  Means we can't get Leontus, but maybe the Command Squads will be getting more orders.

I love this detachment.  It really brings Scions into their own, while benefiting the rest of the army.  I hadn't made the connection the Pegasus Bridge, but I can totally see that!  Makes me love this detachment even more

It's not just 'meh', but a good and different way to play an AM infantry army.  Ogryns, HWTs, FOBs and regular infantry all get bonuses, while Kasrkin are D E A D L Y .  Castellan means Sustained 1, FRFSRF hitting on 2s rerolling, with fall back and shoot.  Or you just add Ursula...

I'm finally putting my scions together into cohesive units as I'm so giddy to get them on the table.

On a final note, somebody mentioned that these Grotmas detachments look to be the ones that didn't make it into the codex.  So I'm REALLY hyped as to what actually made it into the codex!!!

Had one game with it so far and it's a lot of fun. Will not be easy to play as you mostly operate with T3 infantry, need to be very judicious about your CP use and have to be spot on about your force concentration...but boy does it bring especially Scions to the next level.

And I appreciate that other infantry doesn't get left behind either, reroll 1s to hit for ranged at all times is just very good for the volume we can throw out.

Definitely not a detachment to use your units as fire and forget missiles, but when played right will be downright nasty to go up against.
