Black Templar "Shock Assault Cavalry"

Seems like BT can now field some legitimate Space Marine melee bikers:

 

-Chaplain on Bike (Perdition's Edge)

-6 x Outriders

 

Charge them into an enemy with "Suffer Not the Unclean to Live" on and use the Crusaders Wrath strat to get the following --

 

*Chaplain -- 6 x S9 AP-3 Dmg3 attacks with Lethal Hits and +1 to wound 

 

*Outriders -- 24 x S6 AP-2 Dmg2 attacks with Lethal Hits and +1 to wound 

 

 

Against most non-Monster/non-Vehicle units this should do a number to them and, even against tougher targets, between OoM, Lethals, +1 to wound, and Mortals from their shooting and the Grenade strat, they ought to be able to do some real damage (i.e. averaging about 6 MWs, plus 15 normal wounds, against a Vindicator  on the charge).

The problem is Outriders have extremely large bases and are impossible to maneuver. The fix is good for a smaller unit, not one like Outriders.

I have a feeling that in the future the outrider unit will get new models and new weapon options for shooting and melee.
