To tell the truth, I'm not sure we'll see anything new for BT. It would be nice, don't get me wrong. There's a LOT of things I'd like to see come our way. I mean, look what we DO have! Updated High Marshal, Grimaldus and servitors, 2 versions of the EC, a BT specific Marshal, Castellan (directly from the old school artwork no less), Sword Brethren (One of which can be converted into yet another Castellan), and updated Crusaders w/updated Neophytes, not to mention new upgrade packs and decals. The Most I see us getting is a new version of the starter box set when the codex drops. Let's not get greedy. We have a lot, and WAY MORE than most others, especially for a 2nd founding chapter. redmapa Posted January 5 Share Posted January 5 (edited) I'm going to be THE OTHER GUY then, every chapter has historicaly getting their range expanded with every edition and sure Primaris has thrown that into whack of sorts because now it seems like GW wants to rein in the amount of unique units and old units are getting chopped BUT if SW are setting the new limits of unique updated units then it stands to reason we would also follow suit and get our range expanded to match theirs, perhaps not to their extent but something more than what we have now. Our update set the current trend, BA and DA followed us, we already have that level of update so why wouldn't we get a bit more if SW are getting more? GW always tried to keep the divergent chapters on par and we are no longer the red headed stepchild, plus unlike the other chapters our range was never expanded, we sat eating dust while SW/BA got massive updates in 5th and then DA in 6th and we kept eating mud when they all got something. Now being a bit more grounded I do think we are getting one thing only, a unit or a character perhaps BUT the possibility for more isn't so out there imo, specially if the rumors for a massive SW update do come true. The sword is already there and the Banner bearer was always a special part in Helbrechts Lore. I hope its not just a new generic emperors champion or another existing datasheet - I want something new. I just like the idea of the High Marshal and Marshals having neophytes too. They're essentially sergeants from the historical Knights templars. Mmmmm Napalm Posted February 23 Share Posted February 23 The 2021 BT upgrade kit was the first of the more expansive, robust upgrade kits for primaris, and whilst it's a fantastic set of bits, it was released pre-10th ed so it doesn't have terminator bits like the DA and BA upgrade sprues. We already have plenty of characters, so what I personally would like is a BT terminator upgrade sprue, perhaps with a tabard torso bit or two. Maybe it could be used to make a BT specific termie unit (sword brethren termies, as a previous user mentioned), or maybe it would be purely cosmetic. Either way, it's what I would like to see. We have plenty of unique characters/HQs already, and a BT chaplain would be particularly redundant in my opinion, what with grimaldus. If we get an HQ I'd like it to be clad in terminator armor at the very least. Perhaps even Space Wolves. Realistically, our best bet would be for GW to view the Assault Terminator release as an event unto itself, and use that to push a new range of Terminator upgrade sprues for a number of chapters at around the same time, and then hope to be one of the chapters that gets a kit.
