Tidings, a money-at-gw-throwing 40k main

Hello, back when I was a little helveine I once saw a store-display of warhammer 40k eldar dire avengers and was in love, but back then I didn't have the money to buy nor invest in such.. but it always stuck to memory and when that same toystore one day closed and had an execution sale I bought some age of sigmar stuff (as that was all that was left -_-)

 

a few floppy, poorly thought out armies later.. I just had to get into 40k and started with Tyranids, Eldar and Orks. But it was still some years before I finally came across those dire avengers again memory-laning me to the "ohyeah, those guys!" instabuy.

 

Currently still building an Aos mortal nurgle army but mainly focussing on creating an Iron warriors army after having been motivated to such through the arks of omen story in white dwarf.

Have been a member of the dakka forums for a while practically sticking soley to the challenge thread for a monthly theme to wade through the piles upon piles of shame.. but eventually was bullied off it by a few powerhappy mods stalking my posts and deleting them constantly.

 

Anyway, found this forum after googling for a proper WH forum, apparently there aren't many, but this one looked large enough to join.

Will probably update my av when I painted some Votann to stick to the 40k hehe, this one is of course an eponymous (named) disposessed Runelord from AOS/old world(now)

Heyos. It’s pretty nice round here, even if a war gets a rolling in the posts things stay pretty civil. I can’t speak for certain but I feel our population tends to skew pretty old age wise., and we’re just too tired to yell at people on the internet, got better things to do.

Sounds good, forums I left/got ghostbanned/bullied on was rather young-age populated I think, and extremely activism-vocal. I try to keep it to the miniatures but it had some offtopic tabs I just shared my honest thoughts in (on the lore, canon) only to become targetted by a mob. Not ever doing that again on any hobby forum that's for sure.

 

I'm in my 40s so, I don't do politics, I create things. ;)

Brother Leopold, and to everyone here who probably don't know this about me because I never mentioned it...I, too, am a Dakka refugee!

 

My threads became these flame wars, lots of arguments, which is fine...but those weren't even arguments about whatever topic we were discussing.  It's like the most active members were fighting proxy wars from previous problems they had on other threads, and they spilled over.

 

So, welcome!  You are not alone.  I'm glad you shared that because I thought it was just me all this time.

Oh definately not, I saw closed threads by other people having similar issues on there, some of which were similar issues with corrupt mods, and in the specific lore discussion concerning a lot of people had their posts deleted with onesided argumentation not applied to others who had the same opionion of said mods..but ok leaving it all behind now.

Here's to a new era and a better site I suppose, and never talking about lore again. *raises cup of coffee* (I don't drink alcohol)
