Is there a reason some kill teams were left out in the new edition?

So I got the core rule book for Christmas and was looking through it to find the Deathwatch but looks like this book is just rules etc. And obviously the kill team app has a load of downloadable PDFs of kill teams for the game but what’s happened to creating your own kill teams with options of what models to take like previous editions? Was this the same in the 2021 version?

I’ve only played the 2018 version and loved that one and couldn’t get on with KT21 but just wondering why it differs so much from the 18 version?

It began with '21, however many of the '18 teams were shoved in the Compendium as get-you-by rules so people could begin playing right away, Every new team released in '21 followed the trend of having the more narrowly defined set of models and specialists. It was a 'writing on the wall' situation, so to speak.

I think it mainly happened because 1) they wanted Kill Team to be it's own game instead of essentially 40k 8th shrunk down and 2) it doubled-down on trying to be a tight competitive-driven game (for a GW ruleset anyway) rather than the more Beer & Pretzels of '18.

In terms of the missing teams, it's because they didn't get around to making a bespoke '21/'23 team for every 40k faction - though most received one or several over the last few years. I think with Space Marines you're just supposed to run the Angels of Death (or Phobos Strike Team) though as we've yet to see any Chapter-specific teams.
