Right in the middle of the back there are 2-3 links of chain going horizontally straight back. And thanks!

Ah I see it now. It’s just the angle and focus of the image.

It would be cool if there was a length of fat chain like drilled into the flesh maybe from the pectoral muscle round to the shoulder blade or something like that. Could get a cheap costume jewellery chain for it or something.

Any recommendations for costume jewelry chain? I was looking earlier today but nothing jumped out at me. I was also looking for chainmail that might work for this scale too, since it is a recurring skaven motif as well.

I was thinking they usually have stuff like that in TK Maxx or somewhere like that - they have loads of jewellery in the one near me at the moment. My daughter bought herself a ring for a tenner with her pocket money but they had lots of necklaces etc. Supermarkets are good like the Tesco clothing section has bits and pieces.

Worth pointing out that Hobbycraft also sell chains as part of their jewellery making selection, unsure of prices at the moment.

Anywhere that sells scale model supplies for things like trains etc should have plenty of chain. I'd recommend stocking up on various thicknesses of plasticard too, that unlocks a lot of potential for where it seems you're going.

Thanks. I got some 0.5mm thickness plasticard (my first time working with the material, as seen on the little iconography on the...knees(????) of the walker) but some other thicknesses could be fun as well. Do you have a size range recommendation? I'm definitely trying to push my modeling skills on this project, so sculpting and plasticard use are a big part of that.

I dont think you need to nuts with it since you can always layer it but i want to say I frequently use the paper thin, i think a .5mm and 1mm. I do love using mixed media like that though, its far easier to put edges on plasticard than GS. Im also a big fan of mixing that too though. Mixing GS and magic sculpt or miliput is really useful. GS tends to be very "springy", mixing in other ones makes it behave more like clay (for better or worse) which can be really useful.

It never hurts to have a veriety of thicknesses of guitar and base strings for projects like these, so I would definitely pick some of those up for potential cabling.

Wow! Such brilliant conversions. The walker immediately reads as both Skaven and 40k, so you're on nailing it aesthetically. I think your basic troopers are also working well just with those minor changes you mentioned. The Jezzail drones are creepy as hell.

Any thoughts about paint scheme yet? This project is coming on a treat

I was very tempted to do something as Blanchian as I can. Lots of brown and red and yellow with mutes greys and such.

Alternatively, I'll probably do a more realistic metal and rust combined with green warp glow and a variety of different rat colorations based on fancy rats. (I kept rats for several years).

I think for the walker, a PEW or Himalayan pilot would be nice looking.

Actually, keeping all or most of the scienciest rats as albino or black/brown hooded would be a neat nod to the strains of rats used for research. Similarly, I could give any plague rats stuff I do longer tails.

Meanwhile the rank and file and any military type ones would come in a greater variety.

You know what, white rats is such a cool idea that you rarely see - you should definitely go with this. The lore possibilities behind it are massive too; like they were lab rats on a scientific research base/ship/planet that got dragged into the warp or something and it twisted them into sentient creatures…

I like it, and then they probably experimented on repeating the process with other rats they find (likely leading to some of the offshoots like rat ogres (ogors? ogryns?), giant rats, and the rat mount things).

If anyone has a screaming bell and could let me know the dimensions of the bell itself, that would be fantastic. I'm considering a largely scratch built screaming bell walker and not sure I want the usual bell, which isn't quite as sci-fi as I might like.
