Bigyun2K
Hi all. Sorry if this is in the incorrect portion of the forum. Please be kind enough to move it if this is so. Thanks. Just a little background (did a welcome in appropriate portion). I am an older chap at 62 and wanted a new hobby as all i have known is Radio & Computers. I have Parkinsons & and just before xmas i was diagnosed with the beginnings of Altzheimers. I am also Bi-Polar. Which means i shake like hell and find the need to have an adrenalin rush until the next downer. (Difficult to explain but it's like a drug addict craving drugs, once they have them, they are fine until they find the need again. So. Before xmas i went crazy and bought everthing i could only to find now, i was stupid. I shake too much to paint. I thought i may be able to handle it and make me focus. So for now i will stick to Airfix Models etc which i can handle. Now this has created a problem. I bought lots of different magazines. Imperium, AOS, Combat Patrol, etc & binders. Many of the magazines have been put into the binders. Anyways i decided to sell my stuff on a well known auction site. Some with models & paints and others with just mags only. That leaves me with SPRUES. This is where the help comes in please. I noticed on each Sprue there is a long number from GW. Is there a Database or Spreadsheet on Sprues? as this will help identifying models. Any help would really be appreciated. Many thanks to all and sorry for a life storey. MARK0SIAN
Hi, I’m afraid I don’t know anything about the serial numbers etc but if you still have the magazines and sprues together then This website gives a good breakdown of what models are in each issue: https://www.fauxhammer.com/featured/warhammer-imperium-magazine-contents-list-issues-1-80/ It’s pretty comprehensive which is good but also means there’s a lot to wade through. If you’re not sure exactly which issue your models came from then I would first try and separate them into their different faction categories. If you know the faction, you will probably find the sprues on the relevant army page on GWs web store if you look through them all. If you’re still struggling to identify which models are on a particular sprue then just post some pics of the sprue on here and I’m sure someone will be able to identify them for you. I’d also encourage you to still enjoy the hobby. There’s plenty of ways to participate without painting and building models. The lore alone is a good read and creates interesting discussions, some of the fiction is great. Obviously I don’t know your specific financial situation but there are plenty of fully built and painted armies on sale on ebay and there are also companies that offer commission services to build and paint armies for you so you can still play without having to assemble and paint models.
