I like the banner more, but the body less. It seems less universal than the loyalist. That said, I'll probably grab one for my IW when I finally start on them!

They didn't win the Heresy, but the traitors won this round I think. Really nice Mk IV update and the standard works much more nicely than the Loyalist one in my view.

 

The Eye of Horus was used by all the Traitor Legions, but I daresay you could replace it if you wanted to without much of an issue.

Absolute win of a model.

 

-New MKIV is beautiful. Hopefully we see it (or anything really) in terms of new Heresy plastic SM infantry.

-barehead can be used for alot of things with that fairly distinct facial scar.

-Like alot of Legion-agnostic models the 'loyalist/traitor' divide is a fairly minimal part swap to correct for whatever you want.

Pretty disappointed that the model doesn't seem to come with any Legion-specific standards, or at least compatibility with something to put on future Legion-sprues.

I feel like those "teeth" on the rim of the shoulder pad are very World eaters, and funnily a different pad was used for the world eater

Now that's a nice model, I'd say I like it more than the loyalist one. Big fan of the armour. Nice that they showed off some alternate colours again, the World Eaters one is my favourite this time, really nice painting job on that fella.

Like this one more than the loyalist one for sure, but I'd echo my same issue from last week. Did we need this over something else because we already have the command squad. This is more like an extra, after everything is done thing to me

Really quite like him and will 100% be grabbing one for my SoH.

 

However, the face looks like 'we have Joker at home' and the axe looks a bit too much like the SoH axes which will look a little strange on some other Legions. Maybe a more generic axe or spikey maul would have been better for those who collect any other traitor force.

Indeed, the loyalist one was a little bland (nice but bland and hard to justify vs the plastic version except for his gorgeous augmetic leg), and this one gets more character.

 

Yet the big Eye of Horus totem is a little bit otT and maybe "discriminatory" for my taste. I understand that such a model cannot be released with alternatives pole heads for all the Traitorus legions, but here it looks like definitivly too Son of Horus oriented. Something less ostantatory might have given a better balance maybe? (But bigger than the Kleenex of the Loyalist herald for sure).

 

Nice model but might need a small kit bash. Yet it is an all personnal view.

I like this a lot, will have to grab a couple of them. I think with a few part swaps, he'll look good in the 1st Legion, so I think I'll try that out.

On the one hand, I do really like that.

 

On the other... it's probably going to be sold at resin character prices, and it's not so nice/unique to really justify that...

Also: some of the WarCom images lately have done those zoomed-in cut-outs that are just... exactly the same image? Why? When it shows off an optional head, or gives a different angle, that's useful. Just showing the axe that I can already plainly see... why bother?

 

If it weren't for the trio at the bottom, I wouldn't have been able to see the studs on the one shoulder pad, or the extent of them on the left greave. Does the backpack have anything fancy about it, besides the halo? Who knows? What's that big power cable hooking into on the back of the left hip?

The chainmail is a nice touch on this guy! Just comparing to the loyalist herald, I like this guy more.

I think the pads might just be swapped - you can just about see the studs on the other side on the other models.

The banner is still a bit small for the legion banner in the same vein as the loyalist one. But at least it's way better composed to draw the eye to the head piece.

I don't like the bare head but otherwise a really nice mini. Particularly like the banner, but then I'm a sucker for eye-themed iconography on bad guys. Just ask my AOS gobbos...

I like this guy, the Chaos Icon on a stick looks much better than the Loyalist's tiny banner. (Which is about the only issue I had with the Loyalist one)
