Horus Hersey Traitor Herald Consul

I like the armour, but i don't like the helmet's beak.

 

I know the Eye of Horus can be used with all the traitor legions, but i still feel it seems to only work really well for Sons of Horus, maybe Word Bearers. Just feels out of place on a Night Lords or Thousand Sons to me, personally. Would've preferred a different topper.

 

Also not sure what the big sun/star doodads are all about, not keen.

 

I like the bare head, though not the paintjob - the brows are too emphasised for me, reminds me of a vampire from Buffy/Angel.

 

Overall though, I'll probably get one, for my Word Bearers; Sons of Horus already have Maloghurst wth a big eye icon standard.

That is a beautiful model. I think it looks better than the Loyalist one. I could see it fitting in nicely in a CSM army too.

If this is a look at what the new mk4 helmets will look like then I'm relieved they kept the design almost 1:1 with the current kit. I was worried they'd try to redesign it to fit the Visons of Heresy aesthetic like they did with the mk3.

 

This I'm going to convert this guy into a SoH praetor to match the scale of the newer releases.

Seems more like SoH than generic. I would love a plastic box set with MKIV like this style.

All the chainmail reminds me of the 40k DG models. Would easily pass as a DG icon bearer with minor head and shoulder pad swaps.

Looks fantastic. Makes me really want to see them release some newly revamped Mark IV.

Lovely model, and my only gripe in a vacuum is that I don't love the more destroyer-looking head.  But that's minor, and just a matter of taste anyway.  He does look very Sons of Horus-y though, and like a re-skin of the Dark Emissary model.  He makes a great SoH herald, but I think he might find more wide use as a base for conversions.

MUCH more usable as an early heresy/more ominous looking Loyalist model than the traitor slaver guy was. I like it. If it was in plastic I would consider getting it for a 40K Ancient.

Bit like the Loyalt one for me - good model but it's just not blowing me away. Nice to see some MIV, though.

I like the helm, if updated mk IV ends up looking like that I'd be satisfied, though I would prefer it if the ear flaps arent a stock feature of all mk IV helms.
