Valerian
Once again, I have decided to start over from scratch, building a new Space Wolves (based) army from the ground up. In this case, I sold off my all-Primaris Space Wolves force, and decided to build an all-Gravis force that I am calling the Winter Wolves. Before I get to the pictures, I want to make a couple points up front: First, I figure out what I want, and how I want it to look, and then pay someone else to bring my vision to reality. Learning how to actually paint is one aspect of the hobby that I simply never bothered to develop. I like well-painted armies, and am fortunate enough to be able to make that happen despite my lack of talent. Second, after 33 years of trying to keep up with 40k, during 9e I gave it up and started playing the infinitely more casual-friendly One Page Rules version of the tabletop wargame. Among its many advantages is the custom army builder that allows you to create your own balanced units and army lists. You only need to know that because you're going to see some unit and weapon combinations that 40k doesn't allow, but OPR can, and I'm trying to head the questions off at the pass. So with those two points made, here are the first few models of the Winter Wolves: Packmasters Packmasters are the trusted tactical officers of the Winter Wolves, charged with leading individual elements of the detachment under the guidance of the Stormlord. These seasoned warriors embody the precision and unity of the pack, coordinating squads with keen instincts and unwavering focus. Whether spearheading assaults, holding critical positions, or adapting to shifting battlefields, Packmasters ensure the pack’s movements are as calculated as they are deadly. Everwinter Guard The Everwinter Guard are the stalwart protectors of the Winter Wolves’ most revered leaders, such as the Stormlord or Frostseers. Clad in Severus Armor and equipped with heavy combat shields, they excel at holding defensive positions and ensuring their ward's survival even amidst the fiercest battles. Their shields allow them to absorb tremendous punishment, forming an impenetrable wall of protection around those they are sworn to defend, embodying the unyielding spirit of the pack. Stormbreakers The Stormbreakers are grizzled veterans of the Winter Wolves who trade their standard armor for the formidable Severus Armor, transforming into an unyielding force on the battlefield. Clad in this heavy armor, they weather enemy fire with the stoic resolve of a glacier and strike back with the ferocity of a blizzard. Stormbreakers form the backbone of defensive lines or lead the charge into the fiercest battles, their presence inspiring their brothers and demoralizing their foes. They embody the enduring strength of the pack, standing firm in the heart of the storm to ensure victory. They honestly look a lot better in person, but I haven't yet broken the code on taking good pictures, despite having just invested in a light box. I'll keep working on that, and will edit the pics if I ever figure out how to capture them better. I'll be adding to this as the project continues. Grimtooth
Interesting color of blue; Ice-like, glacial-like, etc, etc. While I am holding back on buying a new army due to pending codex, I might get the Combat Patrol and commission someone to paint it. While I like painting and customizing, I just do not have the time at all.
